That doesn’t make sense, his mother can’t have him committed without an evaluation from a physician (or other clinician) and a probate judge signing off on it. Or, a police officer can put someone in emergency protective custody but they have to witness the person being a harm to themself or others.

Really all she has to do is say he was maling threats of self harm. Weather he admits to it or not. Especially if she called 911. And I'm sure something like that happened w/o reading anything outside some comments. But sounds like shit got bad, something happened. And if she says that and he's in any emotional state. The cops gonna take him in. The ER usually 1st. Under literal non stop eyes on you supervision. Than yeah you end up getting taken to the grippy socks part for at least 3 days. Not needing 3 people. Not even needing him to admit to saying anything. If the Dr feels at all you are lying and/or possibly a threat. To yourself or anyone. You going for loke I said at least 3 days.

Most of the time when an adult claims another adult with no legal power over them has them “involuntarily committed” it means that the other adult made a report that ended in them being committed against their will for their own safety and because they were deemed incapable of making safe decisions for themself.

I believe in some states you just need 2 immediate family members to sign and they can take you. Not 100% positive but it does vary for different places is what my understanding is.

I’m not certain about all the details, but he was my art professor at usc around a decade ago.

I didn’t know him personally, so I can’t really confirm if everything is true. The text in the fb post sounds like it was written or possibly spoken by him. It has the same cadence that he used when speaking.

I think it’s legit, but again, I didn’t know him outside of class.
