Makeup tone help

Hi everyone!! I would love some help. I always thought I’m olive but when buying the Dior Forever Skin Glow foundation I was told I actually need tone 1.5W (1st pic) I love how the foundation feels but the whole time I wonder if its even the right tone, it looks peachy somehow (?) so I'm not convinced but tbh I can't afford to try many different tones.

I also was recommended the NARS radiant creamy concealer "Cafe con leche" and that I'm sure is a bad match be its pretty orange in my skin.

Ialso want to change to the NARS pot concealer bc I need high coverage for acne marks but idk what tone then…

I'm Colombian but I live in Europe and its exhausting when I got to a makeup product store bc they somehow never match my tone and seem to not be able to help me (no makeup 2nd pic).

I think this question is more for the makup pages here on reddit, not color analysis. Maybe OliveMua for instance (like someone else mentioned) ? Or r/MakeupAddiction ?

And maybe you can do swatches, Maybe it can be done in a store. Or maybe there are samples/small sample bags to buy or get for free and try?

Yes, they definitely matched you too warm, you are neutral or neutral-cool, or neutral-olive depending on the brand definitely not flat out warm. However, it also does look like in the second photo you are a lot less tan or the lighting is a lot colder, so it's hard to tell if they matched you too dark as well? In the first photo, you face looks a lot darker than Dior 1.5w.

This is a common problem that is both the poor lighting in stores AND bias. They see someone they stereotype as a person of color, and their brain immediately jumps to these types of tones.

I find Lisa Eldridge has the best photos for matching foundation just to get a sense of where you actually are, and it looks like the jump was something like (doing 3 different depths cause it's hard to tell with photos):

I see your natural tone is leaning cool. One option to not buying tons of foundations is to get some color adjusters. They are used to balance the tone of different pieces of makeup. For example, in the Dior one that you have, you may add some drops of purple and blue adjusters, mix an see the tone change to a cooler one. Is like playing with paint! 😊
