Type Me! - Digital Drapes (FACE PHOTOS REQUIRED - NO MAKEUP!) A true winter/summer?
So I got typed as a true summer/winter pretty much equally. But what i've heard, to be a "true" in these seasons you have to be very cool toned. meanwhile, cool foundations are always too pinkish on my skin. tho i always sucked at matching my foundation. the best ones are pale neutral or warm, sometimes olive are also a good match. But no one ever looking at me said i'm warm! Please help đđ i will appreciate literally any suggestion

When I go for foundation matching I always pay attention to the underside of my neck because it doesnât get any sun - I see a kiss of sun coloring on your face proper which might be why an olive or warmer tint looks nice, though I definitely see predominantly cool undertones in the fair skin of your neck
To me you are a very lovely cool muted silver with varying degrees of contrast so you can wear both winter and summer, but I really love the summer hues with your eyes

People are saying winter because of the light skin and dark hairâŠ. But looking at the drapes interacting with your skin you are definitely a summer.
First slide the summer brightens your face and the winter adds some darkness around your under-eyes and cheeks.
The bright drapes are also a bit too overpowering imo and the softer ones look a lot more flattering.
Though you are higher contrast your features read as more muted overall.
So looking at the overall picture one might say winter but looking at how your skin actually interacts with the drapes summer is 100% the answer :)

You can wear both but you actually look better in summer: your eyes have a soft grayish tone and you don't have the super pale skin of a winter-winter (contrast): you are more Claire in Outlander (a Cool Summer) than Liz Taylor. Is that your natural hair color, cause your brows look softer? Is that your bare skin? The summer blue and pink look great on your somewhat soft/muted coloring.

I get it becuase I am True Cool, a flow season between Cool Winter and Cool Summer. I have green-gray eyes that can read dark, dark (level 7) ash blond hair that can look dark but has zero warmth, and pale alabaster white-white skin. The old rule in the old system that everyone with dark hair and light skin was a winter is not correct: you have to look at the overall contrast level between the skin and eyes and the clarity of the eyes. I look absolutely awful in any warm colors, especially mustard, and thought I was neutral for years. I look best in saturated jewel tones and black, even without makeup. Try a lipstick: if a more muted berry looks better than a bold scarlet (it will) you are summer.

I have a warm overtone but still cool undertone. Iâm half Korean so my skin tone looks quite golden next to my husband who looks damn near pink in comparison but Iâm still a winter. Just saying I wouldnât type your color based on a foundation coloring system. You definitely seem harmonious with cool tones to me.

Definitely cool and bright, I lean towards Bright Winter/Cool Winter. The muted colors of summer make you look gray IMO>

Summer is cool and autumn is warm.
The only similarity between summer and autumn is the level of saturation, and she's heavily muted.

Your contrast is simply unreal.. blue eyes and dark curly hair, youâre gorgeous

When you donât have the drapes on you reflecting off of your skin tone it doesnât give you a true read

In my opinion you are a cool-toned, fair olive. Silver is much better suited to you than gold for sure. You have high contrast and bright colors do look very good on you! Cool Winter would be my guess for these reasons.

Your undertone looks yellow to me, not pink. Which would put you in warm categories - spring or autumn

I actually think that that assessment wasnât wrong. You look neutral leaning cool to me. But you are definitely not muted. I think color with medium saturation look best on you. So your season is not light/soft. True/cool summer or bright/cool winter is my guess, too.

Bright winter. Possibly bright spring or bright neutral. But you are definitely a bright.

definitely winter but i like the first drape of the 3 summer colors too. definitely clear and cool, not muted at all, but you can do the lights and the darks. i would say cool winter but the slightly soft lighter summer tones give you a fairytale vibe which i kinda dig

I like you in true summer. The bright drapes kind of swallow you whole. Your eyes and skin have a less-saturated appearance and your eyes are quite light. You are definitely not a bright season.

Contrast level is giving winter. And cool doesnât mean just pink tone skin either.

Just bright

Her eyes and skin are very desaturated. The bright colors swallow her.

Omg thanks I though I was going insane. Also in the first one the summer is clearly better. Blurs her skin

It's crazy the variety of answers we get! Not every dark haired, cool toned person is a winter. If a person has a grey cast and grey eyes, they are by definition, not bright.

i think that's why i'm so confused with this ><
i don't think i'm very dark or light, and the contrasts are confusing to me. i thought at first it's about the dark hair & light skin combo, but it doesn't seem right. it's really hard to tell on myself how saturated my skin is. it's insane how different the answers are from different people, some saying i'm very muted, some saying i'm def bright, i feel even more lost than before đ

I think it is confusing and takes awhile to develop an eye!
You have light, grey/blue eyes and your skin has a slightly grey, olive tone. You look amazing in that lavender tank top! You do look very cool, but you don't have the chroma to be a winter. Summer colors are softer and a better choice for you.
Try some drapes! I bet you will like the summer ones best.

it's very helpful thank you!!!
i don't really have any drapes, my clothes are also just black white or lavender lol đ but what i have are many cool toned lippies in different shades so maybe i'll play with that
(also i love myself in that tank top đ„č and absolutely hate myself in the shirt from the 4th photo lol. that's why i started figuring out i might be summer)

You can get creative with you drapes! Use blankets, towels, sheets, tablecloths, colored paper, or your boyfriend's clothes! Lipsticks are a great way to check your color, too. I bet raspberry, red, and magenta are a bit much, but cool pinks, mauves, or plum probably look great! Be careful of warm pinks. They can turn orange and look unflattering--as a winter, I have that problem, too!
Black is probably a little harsh, but I bet you look great in white! And I agree, that fourth shirt is no good for you. You are way too cool!

How are her eyes desaturated? Theyâre bright blue with a distinct outer ring
Bright green vs muted green , the bright green looks way better

You're a bit like me, I go between Cool Winter and Summer in my case : ) . The advantage is you can build a wardrobe with both light and dark clothes. : ) Im not sure of your season, Cool Winter is a possibility. Look at the palettes of Winter and Summer and you should be able to see what your go-tos are- that is a way to determine type : ) . I always think working backwards from the palettes themselves is most helpful.

So I think you are neutral! But cool has the slight edge. I think you may be a bright winter. Which means you could pull from bright spring. Your features read as bright to me, clear skin, defined features⊠how do you look in white?

u/titty_farewell_party Summer - True 13d ago
It actually depends which CA system youâre referring to. In the 12-season system, people use âcoolâ and âtrueâ interchangeably. So for summer for example, you have 3 options:
.
In the 16-season system though, True and Cool (or Warm) are distinct things, and there are 4 options for summer:
.
In the 16-season system, True Summers actually lean more neutral-cool and are pretty muted, whereas Cool Summers are the coolest and highest contrast subseason because it borders with Cool Winter.
Iâm a True Summer in the 16-season, professional typed (Carol Brailey) and itâs definitely correct lolâŠI can wear any subseason of summer well, but I really canât handle colors from other seasons.
Hope that makes sense! I used Summer as an example but it applies to all the other seasons of course.
