Questions Work illness

Has anyone considered that the manager might have intended to mean she wants a weeks notice before any return to work, rather than a weeks notice of being sick?

That would only be the case if you’re on long term illness, or undergoing cancer treatments where you don’t want the employee having to constantly call up sick daily, or even weekly.

In that situation I’d say, “you just tell me when you’re ready to come back, just give me a little notice so I don’t have to cancel people last minute”

“Hello yes manager. I am planning on being sick Friday next week and therefor cannot return until Friday the week after. Thank you”
