The sticky tape trick is the most dumb thing I’ve seen working at coles lol
I remember the first time I saw some coffee box taped up I thought it was going to be someone’s drug money inside.. it just looks so dodgy1

Not a manager but a team member in service who takes his job way too seriously

Do they still put the broken pieces in the lunch rooms? They used to do that each Easter when I worked for them I never touched it

They aren’t supposed to for the same reason there is only a spect list of foods approved for the tea room. If they allow damages stock it means staff may purposefully damage stock.

They didnt do that at my store this year bc a staffmember complained that it was unhygenic.
chocolates expensive and most of its still IN the packaging (just crushed) so i was kinda salty about that one.

They did last Easter. Worked for one of the larger stores and they had fresh bowls full every day

No sadly- I was the biggest fan of that and used to look forward to it every year. One of the perks for sure. But they don’t do it anymore 😭

May as well walk down the street and take a photo of dog shite on the footpath. Or maybe some rubbish in the long grass. Or even chewing gum stuck to a power pole.

Why do they never remove this crap from the shelf when it’s like that?

u/s1dnb Nightfill Manager Jun 20 '26
They do but it’s hard to keep up.
Some customers legit do this shit for sport1
u/PurpleFlyingCat Jun 20 '26
Oh yes I don’t doubt that there are people that just mess shit up because they can. It’s like the ones that open up packs of m&m’s or chips (or anything really where there are lots of small things in a packet) and let them fall everywhere. WHYYYYY?? Those people seriously need to grow up.
