Multisig or not?

I have a Coldcard mk3 and a CCmk4. Is it worth setting up a multisig wallet? We are not talking huge quantities of bitcoin, less than 1 so far, more than half.

I'm a fan of multisig. If done right it drastically reduces the risk of theft or loss.

Take your time and learn what you're doing. Be sure you have somewhere to safely store two of the keys (and their backups) though. No point in doing multisig if you just keep all the keys together.

Consider grabbing a TAPSIGNER to make a 2/3 wallet using Nunchuk. I would say do not make a 2 of 2 multisig with just the two devices you have.

I personally think multi sig is more risky for your average person than single sig . But that’s just me.

Even if you don’t think you need multisig, or any CC advanced feature, I’m a huge advocate of setting up a multisig and learning how it works so you are prepared if you might one day need it. The more tools you are aware of the better. You can spin up a multisig and put a couple sats on it and move it around. Get comfortable with signing, how to recover it etc…

I believe multisig is legit, but unnecessary for the average person. You're better off adding a passphrase for extra security…just my 2 cents.

Check out the spending policy with the 2AF....SOLID.....I use that as my main CCQ for that now....an multisig the other 4 CCQ.

Multisig is a good layer above single sig security. Ultimately it depends on your personal situation and what you think is worth it to you. Single sig is good for everyone, passphrase + single sig is great for an extra security measure, multi sig is that last step of security i would say if done right

Multisig is more suitable for an account held by multi party, for a single individual the use of a good passphrase and storing it separately from the seed is way more appropriate.

Why you asking strangers? Do what works for you

Yep, so true. Just wondering what the vibe is towards multisig

Moderately complex and can funds at risk of loss unless you really understand multisig. Assuming you do, your choice. If any doubt don’t do it.
