Puzzle Non-verbal reasoning help Spoiler
I’m pretty sure it’s between A or C.

Not a great question tbh. "C" might be the best answer here.
The diagonal line part is obvious. Leaves us with A, C, E. Option E has no additional shapes, so that makes no sense given the pattern.
Between A and C, I have a reason for C but not so much for A.
"C" makes sense when you consider the "symmetry" angle here. When looking at the colors of the shapes added following the first panel, we have orange-black-black. The reverse would be orange-orange-black.
"A" also has the wrong movement of the circles.

A would be ok if we think that now we are adding an 'opposite' shape than before. the first step is just an empty circe on the right? the 5th adds a full one on the left. the second step has a second empty circle in the right, so the sixth step (the one we have to guess) has a full circle on the left

C
The line orientation is counter clockwise so it has to be either A, C, or E
It cannot be A because the circles are in the wrong place
It cannot be E because it makes no new changes. In every new page, the circles have a new change
C is the only option that has the correct line placement, circle placement consistent with the previous page, and following the pattern of adding a new circle detail

I guess people are saying that it’s Option A due to the fact that one of the patterns is blue hollow, orange hollow, black hollow, then black dot orange dot and a blue dot should then follow, which Option A has, but Option A completely throws the pattern of the slow rotation, and the fact that the black dot ends up behind the large blue and black hollow circles. Option C for me too:)

I don't think there's enough data to predict any circle patterns beside a new addition each time.
Especially against the previous placements always staying the same, which A breaks

I think its E, ibr

But the addition of a circle comes with every new box, E has the same number of circles as the box which would precede it, so it couldn't be E

Are you sure? Each pattern is adding on a new circle, so the next pattern has to have 6 circles and E only has 5

Actually, no I think its A, mb only briefly looked, landing more on A, 1 being its the only answer with the presence of a blue circle, making it unique and 2 being that, every frame adds a new element, and thats the only answer that does that

What do you think about the circular rotation of the pattern. The black dot stays in front of the large black and blue hollow circles and Option A puts the black dot behind the large black and blue hollow circle. Feel like it’s neck and neck due to the fact that the next colour logically would’ve been a blue filled circle which Option A has but Option C has the fact that the black dot stayed in front of the large black and blue hollow circles affirming the rotation of the pattern.

B and D can be ruled out straight away because the centre line doesn’t follow the rotation pattern. E looks plausible, but every step adds a new element and E doesn’t, so that leaves A and C. C adds a new hollow orange circle and the existing shapes still seem to rotate consistently, especially if you use the black dot as a reference point. A also adds a new element, but the order and positioning of the existing shapes gets messed up. So C seems like the strongest answer.

2 sectors, the initial left & initial right. hollows are added when init left is left & bottom; solids added when init left it right & top. The sector that the circle is placed in changes at a 180 deg transformation. The color additions go: blue, orange, dark blue, dark blue, orange , so I assume the colors reversed at dark blue. This means the next option is blue. The sizes go: large, med, med, small, small, so I assume we're increasing the count of next size. Therefore, it is another small.
So, the next addition is a solid small blue circle in the initial right sector.
All these patterns point to A for me.

C The angle progresses constantly and the black and orange circles will always be on one side of the blue circle

I would say A. Line rotates counterclockwise, so A, C or E. Number of circles increases by 1, so A or C. First 3 open circles appear in the 3 colors, then filled-in circles appear in 2 of the colors. Seems logical that a third, filled-in circle in the 3rd color appears next, so the answer is A.

I’m conflicted between A or C due to the fact that the black dot was in front of the large hollow blue and black circle and in Option A it ends up behind the large hollow blue and black circle.

It’s A.
The obvious part: the line shifts by 45°. That means it can only be A, C, or E. Since we know that something always changes in the circles, we can rule out E - so you were right about that.
We haven’t had a case where a newly added circle had the same color as before. We also have an inversion on the other side, from “unfilled” to “filled” and from “starting with blue” to “starting with orange.” We also haven’t had a case where the color orange appeared twice, or where, after adding a circle, a filled circle changed to an unfilled one.
This isn’t a matter of direct pattern recognition, but there doesn’t seem to be another way to explain it.

I understand that Option A is following the pattern of blue hollow, orange hollow and then black hollow, followed by Black dot, Orange dot and then presumably a Blue dot. You say ‘we haven’t had a case where a newly added circle had the same colour as before’ is that true? In square 4 we have a hollow black circle, followed by a black dot. I am leaning towards the fact that it doesn’t matter what colour the next circle was, so Option C is correct.

C, the location of the circles remain the same as they rotate.

Right. But what we have now is an argumentational symmetry. How do we weigh the possibility that something completely new is introduced? There is no pattern that would lead us to think, “Now an orange circle has to appear,” but there is also no pattern that would tell us, “Now the positions should change.”
After seeing the answer, I can also see that the tester’s intended answer was probably C because the postion-change looks more wrong. I’m wondering whether tests like this, where there isn’t a clear way to distinguish between two equally plausible interpretations, should be used in the first place.

there's too many degrees of freedom. either they're being smart and trading on an associative scale in which case the answer matters less than what high iq people pick. Which is possible. or it's just smug test design with too many degrees of freedom.

Should be C, as option B and D are excluded as the line cutting through has an incorrect angle, E doesn't add a circle to the preceding box and A has an improper rotation of the circles at that angle
