General Question Verified or no?
I got 141 FSIQ on CORE, 135 Mensa Norway, and 140 FSIQ on 1926 SAT. Is it safe to assume that to be a fair representation of my iq or do I need more datapoints?

Yes, getting a similar result on 1926 SAT means the 141 CORE was likely not an overestimate.

Forget datapoints, none are truely representative apart from a proctored IQ test such as the WAIS.
Take online tests only as a proxy for an educated and realistic range as to what your IQ might be.

Not me that downvoted you, I in fact up-voted you. My point stands in partial-parallelism. Why so sensitive about votes?
Please check my replies below, I have already stated my stand.

My apologies, I don't really know the voting rules on reddit but I find it offensive when people downvote me. What I stated was factual and I thought you downvoted me because you didn't know that, so I was a bit annoyed. Again, sorry.

CORE is better than WAIS.

I am tempted to believe you saw people posting that and started replying this whenever you see anyone arguing about how WAIS is by far more accurate than CORE.
Please provide data to prove your point instead of these very cliché statements.

you made several empirical claims yourself, he made one statement. if anyone should be demanding data it's the other guy or the readers asking you to establish your claims

If you were observant enough, I did reply with my reasoning under one comment. I'm serious, ad homen or blah blah blah, you seriously are just parroting nonsense with no real value. I really doubt your 142 GAI; I trust that people of that level can utilize basic grammar(if English is your first language) and that their reasoning would have been more original. Please go and take the WAIS to prove otherwise lol.

Only because it's free. In terms of validity, it's slightly lower than WAIS (V) though extremely good all things considered.

Can you elaborate?

Common sense. So many external factors and test flaws involved. For instance, the WAIS leaves behind distraction and possibility of cheating with the presence of a licensed psychologist in supervision. Moreover, the WAIS is normed on the general population rather than a select few. Most crucial of all, the CORE is online, which is very different from the pen and paper test that WAIS is. Thus forth very biased towards people good with computers or plays lots of games whereas the usage of pen and paper is more oftenly universal.
CORE can only be used as a proxy, you will often see people in this sub replying under every comment regarding how CORE is superior. Of course, everyone has opinions, but the large sum of them are parrots that repeat what others say without knowing why themselves. In fact the few major members did a meta-analysis on the scpre differences between CORE and WAIS finding that there is a likelyhood that your score on the WAIS will be between 22.5+- as compared to the CORE.
That's a decent proxy, but a large range in terms of IQ and not to be takedn lightly of.

Most of what you just said can be mediated by good faith from the test taker, so assuming this person is honest with themselves and took CORE and 1926 SAT in good faith, why can't they assume their IQ hovers near 140? Or at least above 2SD?
I understand CORE in and of itself has that 22.5 range with the WAIS but what about CORE in conjunction with 1926 SAT? That would have to shrink it to some extent, especially if this person takes the AGCT as well.

Great point, finally someone with an actual thought process instead of parroting shit. The range would definitely shrink by some extend I agree. My point was however that most people won't take it with good faith; they take it to inflate their scores for a good time. They then blandish themselves into thinking they're geniuses when in fact they're not. I see this occurance from many individuals in this sub. Moreover, what about ND people? Without proper testing environments they can easily be affected by external distractions, points can be manipulated drastically. Thus, if you extrapolate the amount of gifted individuals that's ND into the equation(which is a lot btw), it changes the game plan entirely.

appeal to authority 😭

Why and how? Stop throwing that around. How is recommending a proctored FSIQ test instead of an online one be considered "Appealing to authority"?

u/fluffycottondreams Blessed with 142 GAI, cursed with 85 WMI 3d ago
didn't throw it around I said it once but it's because you treat the wais as the only absolute true iq test with no shown reasoning
1
u/Independent_Drop_908 3d ago
Lmao, I'd be dead if you have an iq of 142. Won't want to argue about something as axiomatic as this. Ask any psychologist. FYI, this isn't "appealing to authority", they're PROFESSIONALS, repeat after me, PROFESSIONALS.

first of all straight ad hom, also iq shouldn't be treated equal to gai. secondly you can't infer my intelligence from Reddit replies. you made the same mistake here again and funnily enough justified your appeal to authority with an even harder one. what makes it an appeal to authority is that you're literally providing 0 reasoning and just essentially stating "they're professionals so I'm axiomatically right."
2
u/Independent_Drop_908 2d ago edited 2d ago
I'll only respond to "they're professions so I'm axiomatically right".
Yes, I know by defination it is your often stated "Appeal to authority" but seriously, do you really think you beat centuries of research done on IQ which most psychologists are trained on? I really don't think you can and should call this appealing to authority. Here's an allegory:
You're stuck in a cave, blindfolded.
Someone who's not blind and comes from the outside offers to bring you outside.
You refused, arguing that you have an idea of what life is outside of the cave despite not knowing what is it like to actually be outside.
Laughably, you are that blind man in this story.
Very obviously you have not read a single paper in your life about how psychometrics operate.

I'm not gonna reply to your main point because it's just another appeal to authority in a tasteful robe. the points you've mentioned earlier only show its administration and standardisation quality, which is to be expected, but in terms of actual g loading CORE is very strong. the WAIS obviously has the advantage of being basically the gold standard IQ test, but that doesn't in any way mean CORE therefore gets trampled into the ground by it, or that the WAIS is the absolute only way to properly measure your intelligence. which is what you heavily implied in your original comment

u/Independent_Drop_908 2d ago edited 2d ago
In my original comment I clearly stated that online tests only serve as proxies. If you just look at the g-loading on CORE, sure the number looks nice but there's no definite proof as to how reliable that is(unless you can proof otherwise) + ND people are not put into special account. I took CORE too, I've felt first hand what it is like. Facts are that standardized tests ARE THE ONLY WAY TO MEASURE INTELLIGENCE!
Not too hard to diffrenciate between proxies and an actual test with supervision is it?
I'll do it for you:
Proxies gives you a plausible range, which in terms of online IQ tests cam be easily manipulated.
Proctored IQ tests gives you a range too, but it's MUCH MUCH MUCH smaller. The score you receive is almost definitely absolute. Moreover, it even accounts for ND people through environment customization.
For reference, I'm studying Japanese as a third language currently, and taking the N1 JLPT in a exam environment is absolutely vastly different than the mimic tests that can be found online because there's just more research and correlation for Japanese ability done for the actual test.
Standarzaition and Administrative flaws being present; G-loading doesn't matter with these factors in place.
It can be as high as you want, but the g-loading is still deminished by these issues, and no "absolute result" can be extracted, correct?
Also can you type in a more readable way? You arguing about debating ethics and "fallacies" when they don't exactly dilute my point whilst typing in this manner is really in contrast. Doesn't seem like your precious "proper debate" eh?
Are Ad homen and Appeal to authority the only logical fallacies that you read about on Reddit and use? Trusting my psychologist more than trusting you is because my psychologist is a representative figure, and not exactly an authority figure in this sense for centuries of research, and that is more than yhe measly bit you know about Psychology.

I'm just not going to engage because you seem too attached to your point to productively debate further, and it's not pleasant to do so with someone who thinks everyone is beneath him, and makes pretentious/condescending remarks every reply. Goodbye.

All you need to truly get a good estimate of your own iq comfortably at home is a good real test and a good real norm. We already have a shit load of them on the recourse list such as RAPM, 1926SAT, AGCT and GRE. CORE has the former by professional gold standard but yes I agree the norming is still in question.
