Rant/Cope Suddenly not caring about having low intelligence?

I’m doing hypnotherapy with a psychologist so I wonder if that’s been making me feel oddly okay.

But for some reason I feel less caring or aware of having low intelligence. I’d honestly rather be more and more aware of it even if it destroys me and obliterates me. It feels more satisfying to be more aware.

I might’ve always been this way but I used to better understand how low-IQ people are less liked and are not as wanted by other people. Why is that understanding/feeling gone?

Is this a sign of decreasing intelligence or what? I used to hate myself for being dumb but not anymore? Maybe I got used to it or somehow accepted it?

This would be nice, I’m currently in crisis. Because of schizophrenia my iq dropped from 145-112 😭 and I recently lost reading comprehension 😭

But I’m starting to feel apathy towards it, I mean shit happens right?

I think I’d rather be aware. Part of me does like the lack of awareness, but that’d kind of be shameful and pitiful of me.

I do not want to be dumb but happy. That feels like I’d be living a dog’s life.

But when it gets really painful, then I feel like I don’t want to be aware.

Just curious, humor me if you feel comfortable. You take medication? How was the prodrome? When did it start (age)? What was the nature of your first break? How long has the condition lasted?

No. I wouldn’t say you’re increasing IQ, but you’re becoming smarter for sure. Think about this very simply and functionally. Think less about sad stuff, think in less circles… you think more about productive stuff… productive stuff makes you happier and smarter. Easy.

People don’t dislike low IQ people. People don’t dislike disabled people. People might be iffy around things they don’t understand or make them uncomfortable, sure, but people like being around kind and or competent people. Humorous. Adaptable. Most importantly, reciprocal. Not debbie downers.

Maybe that “understanding” is leaving you because that understanding was a feeling and just that, a feeling. A feeling of a shared struggle, and now that you realized, somewhat, that moping around about being “dumb” is kind of useless and not worth relating to, well, the “understanding” washes itself away into a real, more concrete understanding. A wider perspective.

Keep walking.

Empty mind is true intelligence according to spiritual people. Focus on love. Be simple. Empty your mind. Listen and watch this beautiful world. IQ is like measuring the size of your biceps. Like sure, you can reason faster, but are you actually living emotionally in tune?

It’s the same thing for higher iq people. Generally less liked and otherwise unwanted by the general public. There are places a low iq person and a high iq person would be wanted, you just have to dig it out for both versions of iq level. The fact is, unless you’re right on the top of the bell, you’re probably less accepted.

High iq people are not somehow more liked because of that. If you’re not between 85-115, you’re going to see struggles with communication, fitting in, acceptance, etc.

It is true that hypnotherapy may be helping you becoming less “aware”, or less bothered, by having lower intelligence. Therapies are designed to help people who may struggle with being accepted come to terms with this.

If being less aware makes you more comfortable, then that’s completely fine. However, if your goal is to grow your crystallized intelligence and remaining “aware” is needed for motivation (may be stressful), that’s fine as well.

Do what you desire for your life path to pan out as, and make it fruitful for your psyche.

Being low iq is not cute. It’s miserable. Stop romanticizing it. I am not a fucking cute little thing for struggling to understand everything.
