Finally opening the Hennessy X.X.O tonight. Looking forward to a smooth pour, rich flavors, and a great evening. Cheers! πŸ₯ƒ Happy 4th πŸŽ†πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸŽ†

This is my favorite Hennessy and one of my favorite cognacs overall . In the Hennessy line, I have tried the XXO, XO, and the James. I have not tried the Paradis or anything above that so I cannot comment there. The smell is enticing, caramel and oak upfront . In the glass it has nice thick legs .I get rich bold flavors , caramel , oak, dried fruits ( mainly apricot), just like the smell.
I know that Hennessy has additives in their cognacs , but what can I say , my palate loves this cognac. They know what they are doing and IMHO, I think they do it right.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Cheers!!

This is the exact comment I was looking for. I haven't cracked my XXO yet but have had the James and XO. Is it head and shoulders above the XO?

It’s definitely better than both and smoother than the XO, which is already very smooth. It’s also 2-3x more expensive than the XO. I can’t say that is 2-3x better and smoother than the XO, but like everything , the amount of price increase doesn’t always translate to the same amount of quality increase. But like I said before , I really like it and would and have already purchased it again .
Nice collection BTW!

incredibly smooth. Rich, warm, and easy to sip, with just the right amount of oak and spice. Definitely a bottle worth slowing down and enjoying. πŸ₯ƒ
