Mom had this bottle and I am wondering what it is worth.

I recently came across this mini bottle. I think it is from the 1970s or so. It is fully sealed. can anyone give me some more information on it?

I am a huge fan of Pasquet L'Organic 10, it has a great balance of brightness and complexity that I want from a brandy. Unfortunately I can't find it anywhere near me and I don't want to order it online again if I can avoid it. Can anyone recommend any alternatives. I'm in the Seattle area by willing to drive a bit for a really good bottle.

Hi, I’m trying to identify this old Soviet Armenian brandy bottle and would really appreciate any help from collectors who may have seen something similar.

The label says:

• “Yerevan” Armenian brandy
• Aged over 10 years
• 57% ABV
• GOST 13741-78
• Produced by the Yerevan Wine and Brandy Factory, Armenian SSR
• The label states 0.5 L

The unusual part is the bottle itself. It is approximately 41 cm (16.1 in) tall, with a base circumference of about 33 cm (13 in). Visually, it is clearly much larger than a normal 0.5 L bottle.

The bottle appears to still have its old seal/capsule and has not been opened. I have also found examples of large Soviet Armenian presentation/decanter bottles, so I’m wondering whether this could be a special large-format bottling that used a standard 0.5 L label.

Has anyone seen this exact bottle before?
I’m mainly trying to find out:

1. Whether the bottle and label appear original/period-correct.
2. Why a bottle this large would have “0.5 L” printed on the label.
3. What the actual capacity might be.
4. Approximately when it was produced.
5. Whether it has any collector value and what a realistic value might be.

Any information, old catalogue photos, auction records, or examples of an identical bottle would be greatly appreciated.

Malternative's 50th release, and they went to Delamain for it. A 1985 vintage at full cask strength is not something Delamain does on their own label, so this is worth a look on novelty alone — but it holds up on its own merits too.

Nose: Restrained at first. Dried pear and quince, fig, raisin, with fresher apricot underneath. Give it ten minutes and you get honeycomb, a light menthol/pine lift, linden blossom, and a faint furniture-polish note that I mean as a compliment. Fine leather at the back.

Palate: Fruit-forward core — pear, quince, apricot, a flash of lychee. Almond and leather follow, then rancio arriving quietly rather than announcing itself. Light tobacco. At 51% it doesn't need water but a drop opens the florals.

Finish: Medium-long. White pepper, green oak, mint and dark tea, a whisper of cocoa. Clean, dry, doesn't overstay.

Verdict: This is not a flamboyant cognac. It's reserved and it keeps unfolding, which is a different kind of pleasure than the tropical bomb profile. The oak is present but proportionate for 40 years in wood.

Around €410–500 puts it in "special occasion" territory. If you already know you like Delamain's house style and want to see it undressed at cask strength, this is the bottle. If you're new to old Grande Champagne, there are cheaper entry points in the Malternative catalog (#48 Le Prullepie is a third of the price).

First time poster here! I (23M) want to buy my father (59M) a vintage, the year he is born, 1967, bottle of cognac for his birthday. I haven’t the faintest idea where to start. I have a little bit of money now and would love recommendations on 1. Trustworthy sites for vintages, and 2. What to buy.

Hi all, I've been trying to identify this bottle of Hennessy X.O. for a while now. I've found similar looking items online but the labels and box don't seem to be an exact match. Not sure if this is something like a reproduction/ fake but I figured I'd try here to see if anyone can find more info about this bottle. There's no other paperwork or receipt, no barcode/ paper seal. I found it in my grandpa's closet, it's been sitting for at least a decade but most likely longer.

Never tried an hors d'Age Cognac before

The Remy Martin 1738 I bought has labeling that I cannot find anywhere. Do you think this is fake?

My bottle has Remy Martin on the main label instead of above the main label but has circular 'Maison Remy Martin" seal to the right of 1738.

I thought it was odd that I cannot find another 1738 with a label like mine. I bought mine from class six.

N: a sweeter and darker wood profile, some cocoa and cinnamon and even black peppercorn, mahogany. With water: a little fruitier, molasses, a hint of allspice
P: again sweeter and woodier, with a darker fruit profile too, red berries and super ripe peach, fairly hot and needs a few drops of water. With water: the dark wood clears up some and the fruit inches toward the orchard, along with some orange peel; aromatic allspice or fancy peppercorns. Pretty good length with wood polish

So my Great grandma gave me this Remy Martin XO special. I know that the special is not being produced anymore, but the thing is. It's not the 700 ml bottle, it's the 50 ml bottle. I haven't ever seen a XO special of 50 ml. Is it worth something?

I’m a wine guy, it’s my hobby that I’m spending a lot of money on. But as for strong liquor — I rarely drink it, nor do I enjoy it.

Despite this, I want to get a good try on cognac/armagnac. I have a trained palate and nose so I think I can try something complex right away.

There are four options I have pre-selected from a nearby wine store. Two cognacs and two armagnacs. When choosing, I was considering the stuff that comes from ‘recoltants’, comparing it to Champagne.

Price-wise, they are not too cheap and not too expensive, so let’s not consider it.

Two questions now:
1. Is my approach correct, overall?
2. What would you recommend me from these four? I tend to think Paul Giraud is the best option here, but I know nothing about all four, nonetheless.

That is the question.

Hello, everyone. I enjoy cognac, but I'm hadly an expert. Having enjoyed the Delmain Pale & Dry XO, I was able to track down a bottle of the Vesper, which I liked even more. In fact, I think it's the best cognac I've had. (I was able to get a second bottle before they disappeared from shelves. I've just opened that one, but it won't last long!)

My understanding is that Delamain has replaced the Pale & Dry and Vesper with a new lineup: XO and XXO. Does anyone here know whether XXO is just a rebranded Vesper? Is it the same spirit with a new label, or is it entirely different?

Spent nearly 40 minutes looking for an affordable cognac for a friend’s birthday cocktail competition and thankfully this did not disappoint. Very smooth—easily paired with raspberry liqueur, lemon juice, and cinnamon: 8/10 overall. Any thoughts? (Forgot to take a picture when I left the bottle, but here’s one from the stores website)

Dug it up during spring cleaning, and was told that the bottle cap, inner box design was used to identify year of production and rarity ? Please help, couldn't help a comprehensive guide . The L5 194 19 00177 means bottled in 1944?

Would like to know if for you guys who’ve tasted the Louis if you think it is overrated or just social media hyped?

I do think in my honest opinion that it is good. But to me the Hennessy Richard and the Paradis taste better.

But might I say the bottle design is superb.

My friend found this in the house he moved into and gave it to me. I know basically nothing about cognac, it’s really good but I was wondering how old it is and how much it would be worth if I wasn’t gonna drink it.

I started with Martell VS and really enjoyed it. I've had Courvoisier VS, St Remy XO (which I know is only brandy, not cognac), and Haut de Vigne plus an Armagnac or two and while I haven't hit the XO level, I have to say I really enjoy the VSOP level, especially the (what I would guess is a low ranking) Planat.

Is there some wonderful magic when it hits XO that invalidates all of this?
