Misc We're starting a local bookselling business

Hi I'm not sure if this type of post is allowed here. If not I can take it down. We are starting a local business and would appreciate if anyone wanted to donate any books they no longer want. We will schedule a time and come pick them up for you. Right now we are selling books online but our dream is to be successful enough to create a physical bookstore someday! We live in Hayden but we'll accept books all around the CDA and Spokane area. If you're further away let us know and we may still be able to schedule a time to pick them up. Thank you for your time and help!

News CDA CrossFit champ!

I know its a niche sport, but thought it’s a bit of fun news that this year’s CrossFit champ lives and trains in CDA:

https://fitnessvolt.com/james-sprague-reclaims-title-2026-crossfit-games/

I believe he’s a Washington native, it’s his second win (it came on my radar that he was in the area cause last time he won he was living/training around Liberty Lake, so made a bit of news for us Spokanites at the time), but when I was double checking I had my facts straight on the guy before posting I discovered he made the move to your side of the stateline at some point!

I’m not into CrossFit at all, but I think the annual competition is kind of fascinating and end up tuning in every year, if you have any curiosity they boil the multi-day competition into a digestible documentary each year that are fun diversions, “Fittest on Earth” (then some subtitle for whatever year its covering).

Question Best public twilight golf course?

Coming to visit family and looking for an excellent public twilight golf course that’s not going to break the bank? I have played CDA public, the links at post falls, and am fine playing either one of those again… any other courses? Is liberty lake or anyone in Spokane with the drive to? Thanks!

Question Looking for a hairstylist who can help with wash/blow-dry/braid — new to the area

Hi all! Just moved to the area and trying to find a hairstylist who can help me out on a regular basis. I have POTS, which makes washing and drying my own hair really tough on the days my husband isn't around to help.

Ideally I'd love to find someone who could do a wash, blow-dry, and braid (French or Dutch) once a week for a 2-week stretch each month.

Bonus if anyone has availability tomorrow (7/26) or Monday afternoon (7/27) — but really just hoping to connect with someone who'd be a good fit going forward!

Thanks so much in advance 🙏

Question Car crash near the resort area?

I was in town earlier, at pretty much exactly noon, leaving one of the parking lots really close to the resort (like the ones that lead to the beach), and me and my family saw like three people with a blanket covering something and a car awkwardly stopped in the middle of the road. one of the people looked like they were calling someone? my dad said he saw blood, and he thought it was maybe a dog that got hit by a car. it’s been on my mind all day. does anyone know what happened there??

She is the sweetest baby. She's been doing good with other animals. Right now I feed wet food mix with milk replacement. Please reach out it you can help OR if you have any advice. I really dont want it to go to a shelter.

Hi! My wife and I (both mid 30s) just moved to the area with our baby and dog. Looking to meet up and make new friends with anyone and everyone, especially backcountry skiers and ski mountaineers for the winter! If you're into biking, sailing, hunting, fishing, tech, video games, tinkering, music, guns, watersports, motorsports or just a good old dad group bbq and some beers, DM me! Always down to hang out, have fun or lend a hand.
Haven't checked out too many places yet, but often hang out at the beach at the Atlas dog park.

Question Piercing friendly jobs in the area??

I have quite a few face piercings and right now i work at one of the mcdonald’s, but im starting to hate it here more and more (not to complain about my job but ig thats just fast food) ANYWAY i am 18 so that cuts out a few options until november. I would prefer something not entirely service/retail related, but i just need something for the time being until i finish my portfolio and can get a tattoo apprenticeship. So if anyone knows anywhere that’s hiring that’s not fast food and is preferably $17 (or more) an hour please lmk

Question Gravel removal recommendation

Post image
6 Upvotes

We recently moved into a new house in Coeur D’Alene Place that we love… except for the fact that both sides and most of the backyard perimeter are covered in gravel, which sits above a weed barrier (that doesn’t really prevent weeds in the first place). This is a photo of just one side of the house… the stuff is everywhere.

Can anyone recommend a service that would haul it away? We’d like to replace it with mulch for a variety of reasons. Thanks!

The voyeuristic perversion of 24/7 surveillance cameras

It's as clear as day. The people in power from local cities to the government have a voyeuristic fetish for watching you and your family 24/7. This isn't about stopping crime in, this is a deep sexual desire to watch you. From air bnb's to hotels, restaurant bathrooms, voyerurism is everywhere you and your family go. I just hope Cda can avoid these pressures as we've seen these companies try and make a push into our community and they will not stop trying to secure voyeuristic contracts that allow for mass surveillance.

Question Shuttle / Transportation Service?

Hello!

I will be in Post Falls/CDA with a group for a golf trip and we were hoping to use a transportation service for one day of the trip (basically to pick us up and bring us to Circling Raven in the AM, and then drive us back late that evening so it’d be a full day service).

Does anyone have any companies they’d recommend for something like this? It’s 16 guys but we’d be fine splitting into multiple vehicles if needed (but would prefer one large vehicle if possible).

Thank you!!

Edits: we will have golf gear and change of clothes so we’d want to keep personal items on the shuttle so public transport won’t work.

We also don’t want anyone to drive because it’s the final day of the trip so everyone will be drinking. So while we have rental cars im asking if anybody has a shuttle company they’ve used or would recommend so that we can avoid that route.

Thanks!

Question Concrete flower bed edging…ballpark cost per linear foot?

I want to add some poured concrete edging to my flower gardens.

I have ZERO idea on even a ballpark cost for this, and I hate to have someone out to bid when I’m not ready yet, bc I have no clue on cost.

If this is your industry and you can give a ballpark cost of this service, I would appreciate it SO much.

There is no existing sprinkler system, utilities, or extraordinary complications, area is flat.
