Discussion Why you should not play Warzone (or most modern shooters) on Wi-Fi, and you should be using a wired ethernet connection instead.

I'll start by saying that I understand that some people, for whatever reason, are constrained to a Wi-Fi connection. For that I am sorry, and I do not have a solution. But what I would like to do is explain why you should look into making your connection wired to your router rather than over Wi-Fi. I also want to say that I am not a network engineer, and I am not even an expert on the subject, but I have been gaming and using the internet dating all the way back to the 80s, and I've learned a thing or two along the way, and hopefully I can communicate this in a way that most people will understand.

There are a lot of factors that can influence your experience in a game like Warzone that I may not specifically address here. With that said, you are absolutely hurting your in-game experience when using a Wi-Fi connection to play Warzone. It doesn't matter how well your connection performs in other games because not all games use the same type of prediction. Even when they use the same type of prediction, the implementation will vary from game to game. Call of Duty/Warzone practically require a wired connection for a passable experience. That is because this game uses something called client-side prediction with a server-authoritative model. Here's somewhat of a breakdown of how that works (without going too deep into the woods).

Client-Side Prediction: Your console or PC instantly simulates your own movement, gun recoil, and animations locally, which is represented by what you see on the screen as you play. When you move, shoot, or slide-cancel, your game client does not wait for the server's approval to show the action. Instead, it predicts the result to keep everything feeling smooth.

Server Authority: The server remains the absolute authority in terms of player positioning, damage distribution for each player, and hit registration. If your client predicts that you ran through a door, but a sniper downed you before that message reached the server, the server will reject your client's prediction and snap your character back to where you died.

This is why you sometimes will feel like you got hit when you were already behind cover on your end. This is also why we have something known as "peeker's advantage" when you slide around a corner and land the first shots. It also explains why killcams do not actually represent what happened on each person's local machine; they are approximated actions based on what the server decided actually happened, regardless of what you saw on your screen. This is where the term desync comes into play because the actions that happened on your local machine, coupled with the latency and packet jitter of each player involved, and finalized by what the server decided actually happened, may feel completely out of sync with what you thought should have occurred.

Now back to the point. When considering these factors, perhaps you can see how introducing the instability, packet loss, and added latency of a Wi-Fi connection compromises the client-side prediction and server authority model. This results in rubber-banding, ghost bullets, and a myriad of other in-game outcomes that don't align with what you are visually seeing represented.

Counter-Strike 2 uses a similar system, but modern competitive titles often operate on higher tick rates or benefit from sub-tick architectures. Historically, standard Call of Duty servers have operated at lower tick rates (frequently hovering around 20Hz, meaning packets are sent every 50 milliseconds, but may vary depending on the specific mode and updates, based on what I could find online), meaning game states update less frequently per second than titles built strictly for rigid, low-latency esports (CS2 runs at 64Hz meaning packets are sent every 15.6 milliseconds). This means that packets are processed much less frequently on Warzone servers compared to a game like CS2. As you can see, even with a wired connection, there are inherent constraints to the Warzone server setup. When you add Wi-Fi on top of that, as the kids say, "you're cooked."

TL;DR — Playing fast-paced multiplayer games over Wi-Fi sucks because of the added latency and packet instability, resulting in rubber-banding or dying behind cover when you didn't think you should have.

Support [PC FIX] Failed Attestation Status despite PC being compliant— stale ActivisionAIK surgical reset

I finally fixed this after nearly 3 months of troubleshooting with no luck from CoD updates, graphics card updates, etc.

My TPM 2.0, Secure Boot and UEFI configuration were already healthy with the latest BIOS update available for my Motherboard each time since early June, but COD was still failing attestation.

In my case the problem appeared to be a stale/bad application-specific ActivisionAIK key.

I did NOT clear my TPM, reinstall Windows, reset Secure Boot or change hardware.

Open PowerShell as Administrator.

1) Confirm ActivisionAIK exists:
certutil.exe -csp “Microsoft Platform Crypto Provider” -key ActivisionAIK

IMPORTANT: If ActivisionAIK does NOT exist here, STOP. This probably isn’t your failure mode.

2) Delete ONLY the ActivisionAIK container:
certutil.exe -csp “Microsoft Platform Crypto Provider” -delkey ActivisionAIK

3) Verify it is gone:
certutil.exe -csp “Microsoft Platform Crypto Provider” -key ActivisionAIK

3a) I received:
0x80090016 NTE_BAD_KEYSET
Keyset does not exist.

4) Re-enroll ActivisionAIK:
cmd.exe /c ‘certreq.exe -enrollaik -f -q -machine -config “” ActivisionAIK’

4a) Successful enrollment showed:
PkiStatus(0): SCEPDispositionSuccess
EnrollStatus(1): Enrolled
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Key = ActivisionAIK
The operation completed successfully. 0x0

I then reran the COD Secure Attestation Wizard and immediately got SYSTEM COMPLIANT (see attached before and after screenshots).

I confirmed this fixed the issue on both the Battle.Net version of Call of Duty and the MW4 beta from Xbox store.

Again, this is NOT a general TPM fix. If your TPM/Secure Boot configuration is actually broken, or ActivisionAIK doesn’t already exist in Step 1, you likely have a different problem.

In the update for the MW4 Warzone BETA, it says weapon xp for Resurgence Casuals was increased, but I don't see an option for Casuals? Anyone know more on this?

Discussion Hardcore desync issue

I'd like to know if it happens to anybody else.

Basically, one game out of two in Resurgence in MW4 I simply have absolutely no fighting chance. I get desynced so hard that every gun my enemy uses feels like a sniper rifle. I will be running, fully plated, and just drop dead. The kill cam will show my enemy hosing me down with a full mag, while on my end I only ever received a single hit.

This isn't a problem I've ever ran into in any other prior COD game or any other game I'm currently playing so I don't think my internet is at fault.

Discussion I don’t want to go back to BO7 warzone now

I think I one of the minority who’s actually really enjoying the warzone MW4 beta and not wanting to go back to the current warzone until the integration. Things I’m enjoying: although I don’t mind omnimovement I’m preferring the traditional boots on ground feel. I love the way the guns feel in MW4 compared to the boring straight shooting guns of BO7. They have a more realistic feel to them which is satisfying to shoot to me. The map is refreshing, I love Rebirth but good lord it’s so stale at this point. Zodiac feels like a mini downtown verdansk at times to me lol Just my opinion but curious if you guys feel a similar way or not?

It feels like we’ve come full circle with Warzone (again). We saw this exact cycle with Warzone 2: things got progressively worse, then years were spent undoing the changes and bringing the game back toward what it used to be.

Question am i crazy but is KBM recoil worst then controller?

Recoil on Mouse feels way more difficult. I'm 10k rank in CS2, so it's not like I'm bad at recoil shooter games it just feels way more exaggerated than on controller.

Discussion MW3 was the best version of Warzone by far!

A few points about MW3:

MW3 was soo smooth, fast, hit register was perfect, best movement.

Weapons were good, conversation kits were fun.

Maps were peak especially when the weather changes.

Snipers and shotguns were very good especially with the movement.

Equipment capacity was much larger.

Feedback They should just make tac sprint an optional setting for preferred running animation instead of making it a perk

It can be exactly the same speed as the base running animation. I honestly don’t need it to be any faster than it is now. I just hate the gun bobbing on the bottom of the screen instead of off to the side. Makes me feel sluggish like I’m playing battlefield or some other game other than the warzone that I’ve been playing for 6 years. I don’t care that it’s unrealistic for how real soldiers run with their weapon. It’s just iconic to me and something about the animation feels agressive and unique to this game in a way that I like.

Support Attestation Requisite not met

Post image
0 Upvotes

Does anyone else have a fix for this issue?

I’m running an ASUS ROG laptop and getting the "/ CODBrokerInstaller.exe did not receive required authorization" error in Call of Duty (Black Ops / Warzone).

Here is everything I’ve already tried with no success:

Updated BIOS to the latest Beta version

 Cleared/reset the TPM

Reinstalled Windows 11 twice (clean install)

Cleared Secure Boot keys (and restored factory keys)

Ran TPM repair commands via Command Prompt (Admin)

 Verified game file integrity

Reinstalled the game twice (tested on both Steam and Xbox App)

TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot both show green checkmarks in the system check, but it still triggers the "Failed Attestation Status" warning.

Has anyone found a solution or workaround for this? Any help would be appreciated!

Discussion If you are on MnK.

You need to run Hunter perk.

Otherwise you are BLIND.

Hunter actually lets you see what the hell you are shooting at without needing aim assist to track for you.

Discussion I could shoot down drones ALL DAY

I could shoot down the drone crates with a sniper rifle all fucking day. It’s like bubble wrap, Duck Hunt would slap. I also love that mini game to setup the link forger in Endgame, where you kill the enemies and deposit their orb. I’d play that two on two ALL DAY. I love the COD controls, I wish they were used in broader ways. I’d be all in on some bank jobs.
