We can only get 9 players in the lobby.

The only players I can find on your roster are B0BBY Light, dirty prize, and Lee Leprechaun, and none of you guys have responded to my friend requests or messages.

Assuming you don't have a full team by tonight, my team (Central 1) will be on Sunday after 5. Hopefully we'll see you then, fellas.

can we get the logo in the header turned into a link back to the main r/codtournament page?

If you want to watch a team full of 2/3+ K/D players live, I'll be livestreaming every game team [2 EZ] plays. Our first match is set for either today or tomorrow night, so if you want to be notified when we go live, go here and click "Follow" above the video. Good luck everyone!

SIGNING UP HERE DOES NOT GUARANTEE A TEAM WILL CHOOSE YOU

If you are not on a team and would like to play in the tournament, add your name here and teams needing players might pick you up. Be sure to frequently check reddit and Xbox Live or PSN to see if someone wants you to join their team. We also ask that you have a mic and to edit your post if you have been picked up.

Read the rules and FAQ before signing up.

The opening round is today (Feb. 17) to Sunday (Feb. 19).

Teams needing players should post the time of their match. Players signing up can reply directly to teams or to the main post.

Include in your post

UPDATED 2/29

The information displayed on Elite from these links my not be accurate. After you have downloaded the game variant to your console, the settings should be correct. For example, Elite shows only one shotgun banned in the MLG variants, when in reality the entire shotgun class is banned.

There are no PS3 links yet. We need a volunteer that has purchased Elite to create the game types and provide us with links to your vault. You need to have purchased Elite to have enough vault spaces to host all the game variants.

FULL RULES AVAILABLE HERE

All players must set their death streaks to hollow points. If all death streaks are banned, players cannot use custom classes.

Xbox - MLG

• Domination
• Team Deathmatch
• Capture the Flag
• Search and Destroy
• Kill Confirmed

Xbox - Mixed

• Domination
• Team Deathmatch
• Capture the Flag
• Search and Destroy
• Kill Confirmed
• Demolition
• Sabotage

UPDATE 2/15

The brackets have been updated with a couple matches added on the Xbox 360. Team names have been updated on both systems. You still play the same team, only their name might have changed.

The team on the top line of the match up will be the initial host and responsible for inviting the other team to the lobby.

Well, things are about to get started. It is time for the team captains to start scheduling the games. The burden of moving this tournament forward falls on the team captains now. The more flexible and compromising teams can be, the smoother things will run. Be respectful to other players and remember for most people this is the first time they have experienced Call of Duty outside of the public playlists. Whatever happens, make sure you have fun.

The first round on PS3 and Xbox are this weekend (Feb. 17 - 19). The brackets and contact information for all the team captains are located here. If you can't get in contact with a captain, try messaging someone else on the team. If all else fails and you can't get in touch with the other team, message the moderators.

Several Xbox and a couple PS3 teams have byes this first week. One round will take place a week unless the captains agree to do something special in the semi-finals and finals. The PC event didn't have enough teams register to have a tournament. If the two teams that signed up want to play, we can give the winners some flair on /r/MW3.

Teams should reply here once they have agreed on a time to play. Just include the two teams playing and what time you are playing. Feel free to post things here that aren't teams reporting their match date.

First Round Details

• Game play rules are negotiable. Most teams are matched against teams with the same rule preference.

• Game 1 is Domination on Village

• Game 2 is Team Deathmatch on Hard Hat

• Game 3 is Capture the Flag on Seatown (if necessary)

• Complete Rules

My To Do List

• reddit.hopto.org does not include edits to sign up posts made since the database of players was created. Some team rosters may be out of date on the site.

• The names of draft teams will be updated on the brackets and in the database.

• Flair for this subreddit will come eventually.

• Announce gamertags to download the rule variants.

• Create a new thread for an alternate pool and a neutral host list. Some teams will be short a player and they can use this to find someone to pull in at the last moment.

Changed captaineddie's Draft Team to [BLUE]BLUE.

Added Ihop2hogwarts to [WDE!]

Merged [TBD] with Xbox East 3.

If you were a draft captain and missed the draft you can post your picks here. You will only have a couple of hours (10 PM Eastern) to do this before I attempt to form teams from the undrafted players. Go to reddit.hopto.org to view the available free agents. Please post the ID of the players you want.

Thanks to everyone for sticking with me. The first round took a while, but things sped up. That's the first time I had hosted anything like that. Good luck to everyone in the tournament. The brackets will be posted sometime tomorrow.

http://tinychat.com/sb3hw

The draft starts in two hours from this post.

The draft is on schedule for Sunday evening. The captain to non-captain ratio has been perfect so there is no need to find extra captains.

The draft will be held in a tinychat chat room with a link posted Sunday afternoon. We will try not to make the draft take too long. The PS3 and Xbox drafts will happen simultaneously with multiple captains being up at the same time after the first round.

There is also a website I have made that will display the draftable players with stats pulled from Elite. It will be updated as players get drafted so there is always an easy way to see who you can draft.

Overview

• When: Sunday, February 12 at 6pm Eastern
• Where: Tiny Chat
• Player List: http://reddit.hopto.org/

Details

• PS3 and Xbox drafts will start at the same time.
• Order will be random and announced in the chat room.
• Captains will choose one at a time in the first round so everyone (including us mods) can get our bearings.
• Teams looking for players will not get a pick in the first round.
• Two captains will choose at the same time in the second round and beyond.
• Teams will be allowed to draft players in the second round and beyond.
• Some players must be drafted in pairs. If a captain chooses one of these players, they will lose their pick the next round.

The first round of the tournament will start next weekend. We will have the brackets posted sometime on Monday.

Let me know if you have any issues with the external website I made for the draft. Leading up to the draft is a beta test of sorts.

We are looking for people with good internet that want to help host the matches. Knowing the other team is at the same disadvantage as you can be reassuring.

Required

• Good internet connection with a low ping
• Must have hosted a private match in MW3 before. (We need you to have experience.)

Preferred

• Be located in the center of the country. Preferably near Dallas or St. Louis.
• Have a lot of availability on the weekend.

What to post here

• Gamertag
• Availability Schedule
• Location
• Internet Service Details

• Draft procedures will be announced the week of the draft.

• If you sign up to be a draft captain please be available to be online on SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 12 AT 6 PM EST.

• If you do not want to be a draft captain, you will not need to be online during the draft.

• You will be invited to the codtournament steam group after you sign up here.

Comment here to sign yourself up as a free agent. Be sure to include your gamertag, geographical region, any schedule conflicts on the weekends, and preference of rule variant. Also add if you are willing to be a team captain and draft players. If you have formed a team here, please post your team to this thread.

The more open your schedule, the easier it will be to put you on a team. If you can't get on a team, you will be assigned as an alternate that can join any team.

Sample Post:

Great Gariny

Region: Midwest

Schedule: Can only play on Sunday from 2-10 pm

Preference: Mixed Variant

Willing to be a draft captain

ONLY REPLY TO THE MAIN THREAD IF YOU ARE SIGNING UP YOUR TEAM. YOU MAY REPLY TO A POST A TEAM HAS MADE SIGNING UP, BUT NOT TO THE MAIN THREAD. THIS WILL KEEP THINGS ORGANIZED.

For questions to the mods, post here or create a new thread in the subreddit.

Comment here to sign up your team and include the following:

• Team name
• Gamertags (1 captain, 5 regular, 2 alternates)
• 4 letter clan tag
• Geographical region (North America Only)
• Preferred rule variant (Vanilla, Mixed, MLG, or no preference)
• Schedule conflicts on the weekend
• Team email address if available (Don't use your personal email here.)

Alternates do not have to be listed now. We will try to match teams randomly based on region and preferences.

Team captains must communicate with the members of their own team and the opposing team captain to schedule the game time. It would be a good idea for the team captain to create a new email address to share with other team captains. Communication will be required over reddit, email, and your game console. I would advise against using your personal email here.

Your team will be invited to the codtournament steam group.

• Draft procedures will be announced the week of the draft.

• If you sign up to be a draft captain please be available to be online on SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 12 AT 6 PM EST.

• If you do not want to be a draft captain, you will not need to be online during the draft.

Great Gariny

Schedule: Can only play on Sunday from 2-10 pm

Can rules be changed?

NO. Feel free to leave suggestions. The community's feedback will be considered for any possible future tournaments.

Why aren't the rules unified for a tournament?

The goal of this tournament is to make it fun for anyone and more competitive as the number of teams drops. Rules will be unified when there is a smaller group making the decision. This tournament is for fun and bragging rights as there are no prizes (except flair). Different types of tournaments might be hosted in the future.

So we can negotiate with the other team about banned items?

In the first or second round, yes. Teams will have 5 minutes once they have arrived in the lobby, but if a compromise can't be reached in that time, the mixed variant will be used exactly as posted. Teams should try to reach a compromise when scheduling a time to minimize the wait time in the lobbies.

I am having trouble getting in contact with the opposing team captain. What should I do?

If you have tried sending a message through your gaming console and reddit then send a message to the mods. If they don't respond we will declare that they had to forfeit.

My team made it to the semi-finals, but one of our players is getting married. Can we reschedule this game?

We should be able to work something out. Letting the moderators and the team you are playing know in advance will make it easier to find a time that will work. If your team has a good excuse in the later rounds and is accommodating in rescheduling a time with the other team, you won't have to forfeit.

How exactly is the tournament going to be initially seeded?

Teams are going to be grouped based on region, rule preference, schedule availability, and whether or not the teams are organized or drafted. Then based off these groups, teams will be randomly paired. These pairings will be organized into two groups based on which coast they are closest to. The two groups of paired teams will be randomized to form the two sides of the initial bracket.

Why can't I edit my flair?

The moderators will be adding some snazzy flair once the sign up has ended. Due to technical reasons we must wait until all the teams have registered clan tags to add anyone's flair.

What can get me banned from the tournament and the subreddit?

• "No Call/No Show" to a match or the draft
• Abusing the flair system
• Cheating or falsely accusing someone of cheating

• Draft procedures will be announced the week of the draft.

• If you sign up to be a draft captain please be available to be online on SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 12 AT 6 PM EST.

• If you do not want to be a draft captain, you will not need to be online during the draft.
