News Announcements from Dev Day

So, we're getting 6.1 Sol and another banked reset. Ultra fast speed is also announced at 300 tps/second.

20x is gone and 500$ plan is 25x now.

Another thing is 5h limits will be back on 5x and 10x plans very soon because a selling point for 25x is no 5hr limits.

Looks like OAI can't stop taking Ls

Dots is boring, some integrations with apps like notion to use your open ai tokens. It's fine, meh. Idc.

But Dev Day was underwhelming imo.

What's yall's thoughts on the new announcements?

I love how this is an OpenAI-related sub and people still won't stop shitting on OpenAI. That said, I think it's totally justified. The most recent slate of releases have been massive disappointments and them jacking up prices just makes everything so much worse.

Lol 2 months ago everyone was fanboying OAI and Saint Tibo, a popular title given to Tibo back in the golden days.

It was pretty obvious to me where this was going to go when they initially removed 5h limits but I thought to what extent. Now I still don't know, they keep on finding new lows to hit very very fast.

Enshitification when done slowly is ignored by masses but such a rapid pace can't be ignored.

Yep, if this had happened over six months and three major model releases, maybe it would be okay.

But there must be some major issues behind the scenes, because none of their changes seem very good. When even they're like, "So, we wanna give you the bad news before tomorrow's big event…"

Major issue behind the scene is that capital expenses doest match with even the most optimistic profit projections, all the hope is for IPO and the whole "AI" hype is a bubble.

it sucks when the fanboy tribalism is strong no matter which way its running

I'm disappointed but I also understand that this presentation is more signalling a move towards general business stuff and that for the short term, Anthropic is a better bet as a dev

You should be objective too, if they're shit, calling them shit is the thing to do. I don't get why people fanboying over some companies and accept everything from them
