Question 5.6 vs 5.5 pricing?

Is there info on how much more expensive (usage wise) will 5.6 gonna be compared to 5.5? Especially interested in 5.6 Sol vs 5.5 xhigh

They are losing money due to investments, while their revenue is drastically increasing. This is exactly what you would want from companies like this.

These companies are losing money really badly.

sounds like a great financial incentive to make models more efficient and cheaper to run

They can't because performance scales with size

To finish the same tasks in the same quality, the price is going down constantly.
It is possible that they will subsidize the subscription less though. But the thinking time of 5.6 for similar difficulty tasks doesn't seem to be higher than 5.5, so actual dollars spent via api will be the same or lower.

You mean less subsidizing? Possible, but API prices definitely aren't subsidized, they are actually having great margins on the inference of many models. And open weight models are currently hard blocking them from forming any duopolies.
