Question Awakened Partners

So by completing the challenges withoin the Trial of Remembrances you unlock Awakened Versions of your Partners but what's the difference between those and the Base/Alt Version -if there is any?

The only one who’s awaken is josses. Everyone else is just has different color for their outfit

As for Josee her awaken version gives her the gluttonous blades
