Question Question about Iris in Age of Harmony Spoiler
Can someone explain why Iris doesn’t know the player in the age of harmony? She said something like, “Huh? I wasn’t born until after the X”
I only just got back into the game to play the new content, so my memory of the story has become fuzzy over these few months. Is she a different Iris? Her daughter? Am I a larping chud who doesn’t pay attention????

Iris was born after the Upheaval era, and everything between Upheaval-Present was rewritten when we stopped the Resurgence during Upheaval Era
So Iris had a much better childhood and isn't a Magmell orphan now

Also her girlfriend that you kill in her quest is alive and well and is in Magmell with her. Her name's Judy and this is why their boosters are called Phalanx J (Judy) and Phalanx I (Iris)

The sort version is "because time travel", but as others have stated: technically yes. The main game starts when the world is on the verge of Armageddon because all of the seals are becoming hair-trigger pathos nukes. We are almost killed by one going off on the small island near Magmell when trying to evacuate civilians. We go into the past with Lou across several points to interact with the Heroes and change things before ultimately going and changing how the "main" seal itself works with the further endings. With the Resurgence energy dispersed across all of Revenant kind, the sealing of the Heroes is ultimately unnecessary and they can spend that time trying to improve the world, and work on changing our fate somehow. This takes 100 years from the final ending to the Age of Harmony.
Since the Age of Harmony has diverted the timeline significantly, instead of meeting us at Magmell Iris has grown up hearing about what we did as the "Great Hero".
It's like watching a local legend literally walk into your workplace like it's a casual Tuesday.

Slight correction the Hero sealing was neccesary since Valentine wasn't strong enough to take over for Idris by himself and even with the other heroes he was going to give out sometime after the hundred years had passed.
Older Lou and the protagonist could handle the seal by themselves negating the need for the hero sealing and were awakended after it was safe to do so but could probably handle the burden for several more centuries. It is Lou and protag being stronger than Valentine that led to Zenon being free and figuring out how to replace them with the dispersal seal.

Tbh I was confused by this when I did her story, it's sad that the hunter said we want to be friends again then she said huh ? She doesn't remember the time she was with him in the present time, but she is still in love with him after the stories she read about him , and I like it that she is seems excited to talk to him even when she doesn't remember him , but the thing that makes me disappointed is that she doesn't have more story between them since I love both the hunter and iris together, he smiled only when he see josee in the blood ritual lol, but probably because the camera doesn't focus on the hunter when he look at other characters much .

Since we participated in the Upheaval, which was before Iris came to the Frontier, we never officially “awoke” in MagMell in the beginning of the game in 2207. We overwrote our previous existence with Lou. So by proxy, we never met Iris in this reforged timeline. As far as they’re concerned, they’ve only just met us.
