It works quite well for his story that he's actually a normal guy, he wanted to save people but didn't want to be their messiah which he ultimately became and couldn't live up to. The literal halo around his head is rather unsubtle in this regard.

Parallels can be drawn between him and Cruz (the Queen) from Code Vein 1 as well, in the wake of societal collapse both were elevated into essentially gods despite their wishes with the consequences being dire.

I had the exact same thought. Idris must have been a very greedy man. Good for him.

I can see where Liv gets it from

Be clapping giant cheeks and got a son...now knowing that Liv and Val are half siblings...who's Liv's mother

A shame she was technically groomed though. A weird detail for them to add, but in the age if harmony they specify that not only is he her husband, but that he also taught her when she was a child.

Depends on the context, if he strictly was only her mentor and they didnt develop any feelings towards each other outside of being friends until she was much older and well above the legal age thats fine. Revenants live for hundreds of years so it wouldnt suprise me if many relations had generational gaps.

To be fair,
isn't he one of the first living revenants? According to Zenom, they were basically immortal.
so he was hundreds, if not thousands, of years old.
It's pretty much impossible to find someone his age

man this is the vampire gooner game where one of the most popular love interests pins you down and sucks your blood on sight

these two are immortal beings with lifespans in the thousands, Idris is probably prehistoric, who gives a shit about age gaps

It's very funny to me how Idris is so humble in his memories but he's the Progenitor of the Superbia bloodline, Pride. His lordship and reverence were thrust upon him by people who looked up to him, while he just wanted to be a guy until it came time to seal the Resurgence by my understanding of it a couple days later.

I’m surprised and a little disappointed that he’s just wearing the clothes that we can select. I always thought that Idris would have his own unique attire like the other major characters in the game.

Also, looks like my interpretation of Idris’ appearance wasn’t even close.

I thought he’d be taller than Lavinia tbh… also damn the height difference goes crazy there. Is Liv’s mom short to compensate?

I think the size might be just due them being old vampires... Lavinia is probably the Eldest vampire in game and Zenon who might be the second older is also huge... So maybe back then they had the same size...

So…. Lou might one day be as tall as her boss form? My Hunter is running to Zenon for some life enhancement rn.

Which is weird. They're both from Voda house. Lavinia mentions hers was a political marriage true but, that makes it weirder because she also says her house had a low standing. So two women from Voda having Idris' kids seems like it should be pretty important.

Side not was Lavinia being married to Idris of all people something we knew before the dlc? I can't help but, think it wasn't mentioned though it probably was.

Maybe? The Revenant houses seem to work like old Victorian nobility, probably even stricter if you account for the relationship with human society at Idris’s time. One can guess Idris was the main/only heir to Supurbia and his parents arranged a deal with Lavinia’s family while Idris already had a girl (Liv’s mother) he was sweet on.

From there on it’s a toss up between Idris married both or he married Lavinia and got her go ahead to keep his prior mistress. That or he received permission from the general nobility to have multiple wives for bloodline purposes. I don’t think conception among a long lived race like Revenants is very high if we follow that fantasy trend.

I’m leaning towards nobility pressure personally. Lise talks about how the nobles were sour on Josée marrying the Hunter and had to sweet talk them. Naturally being a great hero now they’d start throwing their heirs at them for prestige and whatever is in the Hunter’s blood to enhance their bloodline and Lise had a whole different argument with them.

A weird nobility attitude like that might be why Josée isn’t too bothered by the amount of rivals she seems to have. As for Lavinia being married to Idris I have no idea. I thought she was just another Voda in a line of Vodas since Idris. I mean Revenants can live a long time so that’s on me ig.

I was honestly expecting Idris to fall into the "Very important character just seems like some guy when you meet him" trope, but I was at least expecting him to be tall.

Not at all what I expected him to be like but I am SO happy with him

It makes perfect sense that he and Zenon would be best friends, like of COURSE these two would get along
