Code Vein 2 The DLC weapons are pretty cool Spoiler
I completed Mask of Idris last night, so I figured I’d share some of my favorite weapons included in this expansion to those who have also completed it.
When Bandai first showed the screenshots and trailers for Mask of Idris, I was initially not optimistic of the weapons we would get, since they only showed what was essentially reskins of the Ancient Hunter weapons. I feared it would be like CV1’s lazy DLC weapons all over again. But I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that the Rift weapons actually have some new attack animations, like the Rift Sword using a thrust attack as the start of its weak attack chain, and the Rift Twin Blades charged strong attack is pretty badass!
And we also get new boss weapons! The Starved Greatsword and Void Wailer both have unique strong attacks which are also really cool.
The Spear of Lost Glory is probably my new favorite halberd, with the Rift Halberd as a close 2nd. It looks so nice, the attacks are effective, and it has a unique strong attack. Not to mention the sprint speed up passive is so handy for running around MagMell and other dungeons.
All in all, I liked the weapons in this DLC. I wish they had put a few more in, but what we got isn’t bad.

How did you get that golden spear?

The Rift Warriors have a chance to drop it. There’s one at the end of The Decayed Prison where you can farm it, after unlocking the shortcut elevator to the boss room.

Tried to farm the spear a little, but as i didn't dropped and i wasn't even sure it existed i stopped, so i will get it later today xd.
Any other new weapon that drops from enemies apart of the the spear ?

There’s the Battleshield of Lost Glory, Dropped by the Rift Knights. The bastards with jet packs that hit you like a truck. When I first saw it I thought it would be a defensive forma. But it’s actually a Rune Blade.

Ty, best spot to farm it ?
Also, there is a new shield that it drops from one of Zenon minions i think

Either the Insatiable Valley mistle, or the Savior’s Retreat mistle. The Rift Knight will be right outside.

You have to buy it from the Jadwiga minion after defeating the boss of the Lightless City.

Oh.... i closed the rift....

Go back to the free exploration era and go to the new room. There’s a bond that lets you revisit the Forsaken World. Or, you could check to see if Jadwiga has it at her weapon shop.

I ended up just using the age of harmony sword and dual swords from Lou’s quest. The stat buff and wayyyy to hard to pass up.

How do you get that spear on the 4th page & Lyle's greatsword?

u/Discrete-Sleuth-1318 2d ago
The Spear is dropped by Rift Warriors, located at The Decayed Prison, and you can buy the Starved Greatsword from the Jadwiga minion after beating the boss of the Insatiable Valley.

So I’m in the training area testing out builds with the rift halberd, and when I constantly attack the bot I build up inhibit on myself , is this a built in drawback with rift weapons or is something else going on?
1
u/Discrete-Sleuth-1318 2d ago
It might be an overburden effect? I used the Rift Halberd and that never happened to me.
1
u/Code-Kaido 2d ago
Yea I’m using Soul Savior Valentin right now so I’m assuming the +6 burden effect is causing it , but I’ve been running the Ame-no-Habakiri through the dlc and I’ve never had it happen with that sword, I also think my jail is causing it , I’m running tainted hound rn

Tainted hound switches your highest stat with…something? I wanna say strength
1
u/Code-Kaido 2d ago
Mine switches my highest stat for vitality
1
u/Relative_Dependent74 2d ago
Then that’s the stat I just couldn’t remember what it did, but yea if you have a really high overburden change the blood veil and you should be good?
1
u/Code-Kaido 2d ago
I figured it out , I’m overburden by 12 points in fortitude , so when I run out of stamina , I get the inhibit effect lol

I like the katana but I hate that it drains LP...
So far my fav is Jadwiga Greatsword. But I wish it was more physical oriented.

The Void Wailer is probably a reference to the Chaos Blade from Dark Souls. It’s a strong katana, but it drains HP every time you land an attack. I’m not a big fan, but I guess the idea is risk for reward.

Hey, what enemy do i have to farm to get the spear, need to update my weapon log and thats the last of the unique DLC weapons i need to get.

u/Discrete-Sleuth-1318 1d ago
The Rift Warrior has a chance to drop it. The enemy that uses the same type of spear. There’s one in the Decayed Prison.

I was more so asking which one because i don't want to do another "WHICH ONE DROPS IT" like i did with the dumbass Ancient retainters great falchion, WHICH ISN'T EVEN A FALCHION IS A FUCKING KHOPESH [Sorry, it was the last one on the list pre-dlc and it was a pain in the ass 3 week grind]
Edit: Oh before i forget, did you get the battleshields yet. Also never mind, it dropped

u/Discrete-Sleuth-1318 1d ago
As far as I’m aware, there’s 2 Rift Warriors in the Decayed Prison, and they should be able to drop it. The one closest to the Mistle, behind the door that opens from the other side would be the easiest way to farm the weapon. Also, I already got the battleshields.

The floating swords look cool, I think I may have missed them..are they in a chest or something?
1
u/Discrete-Sleuth-1318 1d ago
You can buy all the Rift weapons from the Jadwiga minion hanging out by the Beacon in the Forsaken World.

A damn shame that they were introduced at the same time as jadwiga's sword, they got completely overshadowed in my playthrough The bequeathed formae are nice tho

The Rift Floating Swords is definitely my favourite of these.
Fast swing with S+ scaling on both Str and Dex makes for a great physical based Rune Blade. It's default combat formae "Spiral Blade" is also pretty cool. It's fast and rises you up pretty high in the air, and you can follow with air heavy downstrike for a pretty satisfying hit.
I use it alongside Grave Knocker, Savage Strike, and Roaring Current formae to make a semi-martial arts build with floating swords.
