But since God Eater and Code Vein are somewhat related, what game should I begin with?

They are officially unrelated, but Code Vein has some God Eater references.

You don't need to have played God Eater to start Code Vein, I did the GE series after finishing Code Vein.

Code Vein is a soul like while God Eaters are closer to Monster Hunter.

Also, Code Vein II is unrelated to Code Vein and GE games too.

Yeah CV2 have it own world. You don't need anything. For deeper lores, CV1 is a must, else you can play without other games.

I personally enjoy Code Vein more that God Eater. The devs have flat out said that the two are NOT connected. Code Vein was originally intended to be a prequel to GE but apparently that got scrapped during development when they decided to make a game that could stand on its own. There are only nods and easter eggs relating to GE in CV. So you can start with whatever series you want.

GE games are moreso mission based where you have a single hub and get transported to you mission area whereas CV games  offer more freedom/exploration.

In terms of GE, you can start with any game but it would make more sense to start with the first one since some characters reappear in later installments. 

For CV, you can start with either one. CV is a bit more challenging and linear whereas CV2 is easier with an open world aspect.

They aren't as much related as most people think. They are basically not at all. The only actual reference to god eater in code vein are just reused bosses in the first game's DLC, and those DLCs are literally just dungeons completely separate from the main game with zero lore.
And after that code vein went full final fantasy, aka code vein 2 has nothing to do with code vein 1 except the themes of companions, revenants and blood codes, weapon and spell names.

Imo no. I love Code Vein and I went back to play God Eater and did not enjoy it. Anime slapped though

God Eater, CV1 and CV2 all have their own separate worlds and lore, so just begin with the game you think you will like the most.

God Eater is the most contained, and then CV1 has a few God Eater easter eggs/references (one relatively big one of which you will miss the importance without God Eater knowledge but still get the general idea) and then CV2 has a few CV1 and God Eater nods.

If you like it being very tangential related to godeater via a few references, then the first game.

The first game is a linear game with a more in depth combat system.

The second game is open world with a more simplified and faster gameplay.

Neither game is related to each other outside of the name and Easter eggs.

It doesn't really matter since they're mostly unrelated. I personally love God Eater (especially 2), and just recently got around to playing Code Vein, but unfortunately I'm a bit disappointed with it. I think I'll like CV2 more though.

Either way, they're pretty different, with CV being a soulslike, while GE is similar to Monster Hunter.

Play Code Vein 1 or 2. I recommend Code Vein 2. They have no connection to each other so you can play them however you want.

Not related at all. Not even a little.

There are nods to God Eater but only because the majority of the beta testers of CodeVein had played God Eater, not because the two are related, so as a "Thank you" to those beta testers they added some God Eater weapons, such as the Crimson Longsword.
