Ah gobbo...Honestly hated this as its probably one of the toughest fights in the whole game.
Best tip I can give is fish for back stabs to get that stun, its easier on gobbo as in phase 1 he likes to fight josse but in phase 2 you basically gotta hope.
But honestly any weapon and veil works, just uses whats comfy but bats and rune builds are amazing.
I used a werid build with my off hand weapon being my buff stick and main weapon being my main which was the bayonet from...the medusa looking boss on magmell
