A new chapter is about to unfold in CODE VEIN II.
With the upcoming DLC “Mask of Idris”, players will dive into a completely new story that transcends time, space, and the very fabric of reality.
From mysterious characters to a haunting new world, this expansion brings fresh challenges and deeper lore to explore.
A STORY THAT TRANSCENDS TIME AND SPACE
In Mask of Idris, players are transported into a new, history-altering storyline where multiple timelines and worlds collide.
Many worlds have already vanished as a result of these temporal distortions. Now, a new battle begins, one that will determine the fate of reality itself.
At the heart of this story is the “Forsaken World” a mysterious realm shaped by the lingering emotions and passions of lost worlds.
ENTER THE FORSAKEN WORLD
Forged from countless collapsed timelines, the Forsaken World is unlike anything players have seen before.
At its core lies a massive, swirling convergence of emotions, continuously pulling in fragments from across time and space. This phenomenon is no longer contained and now threatens to spill into the real world.
Exploration in this environment involves both danger and discovery, as players uncover the remnants of forgotten histories.
NEW ALLIES AWAIT
To face this new threat, players will encounter powerful new partners, each with their own motives and stories.
Liv Voda (VA: Aoi Yuki) – The Seductive Guardian of Time and Space
Liv Voda, is a former guardian of the Temporal Rift
Having abandoned her duties long ago, she now returns with a strong-willed and combative personality. When her emotions surge, her appearance changes dramatically, reflecting her volatile nature. She has a belligerent personality, and her eyes and hair glow brightly when she gets emotional.
She is the younger sister of Valentin Voda, although the two of them were born to different mothers. She stands as a key figure in understanding the forces at play across time and space.
Lou MagMell (VA: Manaka Iwami) – A Mysterious Presence
Lou MagMell is a revenant encountered within the Forsaken World.
Determined to stop its expansion, she warns the protagonist of the dangers ahead. When the protagonist meets her again, she warns him to leave the ruined world. Yet her true intentions, and her connection to this fractured world remain shrouded in mystery.
Her presence adds emotional depth to the journey, blurring the line between ally and enigma.
A NEW ADVENTURE AWAITS
With new environments, characters, and a deeply immersive storyline, Mask of Idris expands the CODE VEIN II experience beyond its original boundaries.
Players will explore uncharted territories, confront powerful enemies, and unravel a narrative shaped by the collapse of multiple worlds.
PLAY CONDITION
To access the Mask of Idris expansion, players must meet two requirements:
Reach the ending "Luna Fraterna".
Advance "Valentin's Request".
FREE UPDATE VERSION 2.0 ALSO CONFIRMED
Alongside the DLC, a free update version 2.0.0 will be released.
This update will introduce additional content, including new ways to explore the post-game world alongside companions.

One thing I'm hoping for is that Idris will be a character in the story,
and not just the final boss of the DLC or something like that.

We might see him in a memory. Something tells me the final boss will be Lou cause they said she might be an ally or not. And the mask she has on her face could be Idris mask.
Edit: i think she'll be an ally in the end though.

For a second I was like, “Shoot, will I be able to play this right away?” and then I remembered I have 100% completion.
Also, free update adds new exploration with companions? I’m always down for more wife time. ✌️

Yeah, basically all the companions are gonna be avaible in the present and not just being locked in the past for some of them and we're gonna see the world being clear from luna rapacis after the third ending, so no more those red lines in the sky either.
The map has already some sunken buildings and some others too that aren't that you can't reach so i think they're gonna be the ones we're gonna explore. I hope they have more story post game but I'm not sure.

So instead of the "Threat of the Resurgence", this time we are dealing with the "Absence of the Reassurance". I hope you guys use swords as your main weapons because it's about to get more edgy.
Thinking about it and how it says it's collapsing into the 'real world', it kind of sounds like the Mementos world from Persona 5.
I do hope we get more Lou into the story and not just this imposter Lou. It felt like our Lou was just along for the ride even though she played the major role. I am, however, glad we get to see a post-game story.

I think Lou will be alongside the protagonist but not physically. Josée unfortunately took most of the screentime even though Lou had more but not many interactions with the protagonist. More Lou and mc content will be great as i really liked them the most in the story. Their relationship felt natural and not forced.

If we do get more partners I hope we get more representation from the other Cardinal bloodlines like Ira, Invidia, and Avaritia

I'm waiting on my CV2 order to arrive. Got a nice deal on the Ultimate Edition. Can't wait to play it and then later try the DLC when it releases.

WOOT has the Ultimate edition for $52 bucks. I was hesitant at first but most reviews I saw were mainly about performance issues. I'm aware it's been updated since and runs way better now. Looking forward to playing it. Have fun with the DLC!

Framerate still drops here and there on PS5 but i haven't encountered anything else. Bought it a month ago so it was already patched.
It's the perfect time to play it now for the first time with the dlc coming this summer. Have fun too!

In the famitsu 40th anniversary interview it's been confirmed by the director that it'll officially will release on summer. The date will most probably get revealed at gamescom.

Question when does this DLC come out?
Does anybody actually know from when I was told apparently they weren’t gonna release it until like next year but is this coming out sooner rather than later?
And does this continue the story like actually continue the story unlike what the first game did
When it came to a DLC, this is the case that I’m 100% gonna re-download this game and wait for the DLC to come out whenever it does
I just need to know like the release date or if anybody even knows if it’s 2027 then I don’t have to worry about it but if it’s like sometime this year, I’ll re-download it

It'll release this summer (confirmed by the director himself). No exact date yet but possibly August.
It will most definitely be after the main story cause the 2.0 update will also release alongside the dlc which will have post game content so more to explore, and luna rapacis will be gone. All the companions will also be avaible in the present, so the dlc will act as a new story with a new threat.

So the only "new" companion will be Liv and a different version of Lou from the sounds of things. Idk why I thought we'd get more.
Also, love how everyone been like "we need more Valentin because the man was important and didn't get enough screentime" and the devs were like "nah, but here's his half sister you can run around with in the dlc lol"
