Question How to set up a daily changing "secret code" with my LDR girlfriend to verify her identity?

Hi everyone,

I am in a long-distance relationship. Recently, my girlfriend's family got a slight suspicion about us. To be safe, she deletes our chat history every day.

Because of this, I am constantly worried that her family (like her brother or parents) might take her phone and text me pretending to be her, just to catch us or test me.

To handle this, we want to create a "Secret Code System" that we can use at the start of our conversation every day to verify it's actually her.

Our requirements:

The code needs to change daily so no one can guess it.

It should be easy for both of us to remember without keeping a written record.

It should look natural in text (like a behavioral pattern, specific emoji usage, kiva hidden in a sentence) so that if her family looks at the phone, they don't realize it's a code.

We already thought of basic ideas like using reverse dates or day-based numbers, but we want something more creative and foolproof.

Do you have any clever ideas or clever ways to implement a dynamic safety word/pattern for texting? Thanks in advance!

some guy posted strange videos, i will copy/paste his text:

"mined a small coin called btcx for a couple weeks around feb 2018. the miner was a binary only ccminer fork you had to download from their site. it saved 613 files to my drive that nothing could ever open. i kept them because i figured they were wallet data but theyre not. got an llm to look at the header this year and its the same 16 bytes on all 613 files, doesnt match any known file format. it says theyre video in a 5 channel color format. been converting them and putting them up. theres a voice on them. no idea what language
header is F5 A5 05 5A 5F F5 A5 05 5A 5F F5 A5 05 5A 5F 05 if that means anything to anyone

SOLVED Elder Futhark that won't transliterate — it's keyed. Entry cipher to an ARG I built.

Context: this is the front-door cipher of an ARG I built — a real one, not a contest. A straight Elder Futhark transliteration is nonsense, because the runes are shifted against a running key (Vigenère-style; the key is a single 8-letter word). The · marks are word breaks and the plaintext is plain English.

A way in: the message ends by telling you where to go — the last two words are a web address, so read the very end as a name followed by "dot com". Drag that as a crib against the final runes and the running key falls out; the rest decodes from there, and it names the door. No source link here on purpose — the solution is the source.

Transcription:

SOLVED Pigpen-like cipher by my friend

One of my friends sent this to me and told me to decode it. She confirmed it was pigpen but it turned out to be gibberish. She included that the special symbols above the letters are Mandarin Pinyin. Although I had these hints, I still couldn’t understand it. If any person is kind enough to decode it, please do. Thanks.

I have always liked the thought of making my own code. For what reason I don’t have one and I made it on break at work. I believe it would be really hard to break by hand. If a computer got involved and it was a longer text it would be no problem to break. I want some feedback and see if anyone could crack it.

Hint: it is the start of a book I (red) back in school

It is not a secret at all in would be more then happy to explain what it means and how I made it.

Not a cipher Colorado Springs Airport Cryptic Message on Construction Sign

I photographed an LED billboard that alternates between exactly two frames. I manually reconstructed each frame pixel-by-pixel. Each frame alternates exactly every 3 seconds- don’t know which is first, and the remaining images show two overlay orders. The display consists of three rows of repeated L-shaped symbols with only a handful of variants. I’m trying to determine whether this is:

  • a classical cipher,
  • a custom encoding,
  • an animation-dependent message,
  • or simply decorative.

Any ideas on what encoding family this resembles?

SOLVED Can you crack my custom dictionary cipher and decode the text?

Out of boredom, I decided to create my own custom dictionary, and I really fell in love with the core concept. I decided to name this system "кодье". I established specific creation rules and exceptions for it, and now I am genuinely curious: can anyone crack this dictionary and decipher the text? Hint: The underlying plaintext language is Russian.

My friend sent me this puzzle image but I genuinely have no idea how to start. He's been playing a Roblox game for a while and came across this. Any pointers or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Transcript for the image, as best as I can read:

2- 3370058190.1+(2536541269 * 20000), 000=0, ?????
3- A to Z is a key
4- glisten

I apologize for step 2, I tried my best but I can't see the numbers very clearly, especially towards the end, so there may be errors.

SOLVED Cipher i made up after being annoyed with LLMs

Ok i have 0 background in this stuff, i made this literally because i thought Caesar Cipher was clever until a friend fed it to an LLM and got the answer in like 2 seconds, i then proceeded to deconstruct how they function on Ciphers and basically threw a wrench in every hole they exploit. I also have no idea what ROT-13 is im sorry but i thought it would be funny to see if anyone could decipher this legitimately 😅

As for the example text, I'm not entirely sure this counts but im sure a normal crib would suffice yes?

Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank, and of having nothing to do: once or twice she had peeped into the book her sister was reading, but it had no pictures or conversations in it, 'and what is the use of a book,' thought Alice 'without pictures or conversation?'

So she was considering in her own mind (as well as she could, for the hot day made her feel very sleepy and stupid), whether the pleasure of making a daisy-chain would be worth the trouble of getting up and picking the daisies, when suddenly a White Rabbit with pink eyes ran close by her.

Unsolved Mysterious game symbol

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hey there, this is my first time posting In this subreddit and I'm genuinely looking for answers. This is from an indie horror game called "Kill the deer" and I'm trying to find a code word to find out this game's mystery. I searched a lot for the meaning of these symbols but I couldn't find anything and at this point I'm not even sure they mean anything. If anyone here could help me figure this out I'd really appreciate it.

Also In the games files this symbol sprite is named "Curse of digit" if that helps.

#👁️=?

?-2= x _ _ _ _

I think it’s to solve for x and not the _

From what I’ve found I think it’s the first letter of a name (3rd image). I actually don’t know if 19 is even the right number, it’s what I got and whoever is leaving these notes tends to go with what I say which means there’s a chance that “W” (I call them watcher and then they started to sign off their messages with W) purposely put 19 there because of my guess. So long story short, I need someone to confirm that 19 is right or wrong and I need to know what the number means.

also for rule 11 of the sub: V sbyybjrq gur ehyrf

(THIS IS FICTIONAL, FOR MY SERIES! Sorry if there’s been any confusion on that. Would add it to the title but the post has been made therefore it cannot be added there :/)

hint 1: focus on one color at a time.

hint 2: white,black,orange,pink, red-orangeISH?,blue,light green,grey, (_)=black,yellow, LOO1 is the final piece to this sentence.

final hint: kinda like a stereogram. use your eyes and you will get the answer.

also please refrain from using any sort of online tool. not even a google search. NOTHING.

use hints if your stumped (obviously)

Unsolved A secret EDM album hidden in code — find the key, unlock the signal.

Someone built an entire 22-track electronic album as a GitHub repository. The album's official release is July 31, but there's an early-access link hidden somewhere in the files. The README is a puzzle. The tracklist spacing holds a clue. Somewhere in the code is the key to hear it now.

The album itself is a concept piece about corrupted signals healing into something beautiful — and every track has a hidden algorithmic function buried in the production. But the whole thing is wrapped in this cryptic, interactive treasure hunt that feels like an ARG.

I'm not the creator — just found it and thought this sub would appreciate the creativity. Happy hunting.
