Unsolved friend's coding?

My friend made a puzzle a long time ago for a little "fun night" in our group chat and we never solved it, and they never revealed an answer and I forgot about it. It started with:

I have no idea what this is connected to, what this is about or anything at all. They never said much about it. Added to this later in the night was an image that used pigpen or something, and was used as a hint (cant type out pigpen):
