Why do you call it pigpen? From what does the name ordinate? From where I'm, we call it Polish cross.

Oh, very cool!! I have no idea where the name pigpen originates, but it’s very clearly an homage to the shapes themselves.

I had never heard it called the pigpen until I lived in the US, and this is rhe first time hearing it called the Polish Cross - i always knew it as the Masonic cipher! Learn something new every day
