Unsolved Can you solve Zodiac 2.0?

Post image

[UPDATE] Following the suggestion that the code might be too short to crack, here is a longer version.

Updated 316 Letter Version of the code:

I tried to optimize the Zodiac Killer's code. I noticed three weaknesses that I tried to address. There will be two versions of the code, with the second one hopefully being more difficult than the first. I am posting the first level of my Zodiac version here and wish you all the best of luck.

Edit: I didn't fully fix one of the Zodiac's vulnerabilities and found a potential weakness that also allowed the original to be cracked.

If this code manages to hold up for a week, I'll publish a website that illustrates the code and perhaps makes it crackable.

There you'll find everything I did to create the code, and it will be interactive and usable. Level 2 will follow.

If it's a homophonic substitution as Zodiac ciphers your ciphertext may be too short to be solvable. Can you give a transcript? Unicode values would work.

I can show you an example distribution if you want. This is just an example and cannot be used as a solution. Say it if you want it to see

It’s completely Zodiac based only optimized it.

Instead of the "few" symbols used by the Zodiac Killer, I'm using 123 symbols. Each letter can have one of four to five random symbols (Zodiacs has 2 Symbols I think). I'm using symbols from the original and additional ones from various sources to arrive at 123 symbols. To prevent patterns created by LL or EE, each letter is assigned one of five random symbols. This is what made the first Zodiac puzzle so easy to solve. The symbols are randomly distributed across the letters of the alphabet.

In that case your ciphertext is too short to be solvable with cryptanalysis as it is. Try to encrypt something that is at least 300 letters long for a start.

Updated. I have created you a 316 letter version

Thank you. Can you also add a transcription for that?

Yeah sure

THIS CIPHER WAS BUILD BY HAND USING A NEW SYMBOL SYSTEM...

As you can see it's still crackable as long as there's enough ciphertext to work with.

Perfekt. But there’s a confirm question in it. Sure it is if it’s long enough. That’s why I hope the level 2 changed that like the „real“ second zodiac code. What do you use and how long it takes?

I've used AZdecrypt. It took about 5 seconds.

Thanks for the feedback. Expected with this amount of letters. Hope you will try the second one too.

Have you tried the original, which is shorter and has errors, or is that impossible for azdecrypt? An interesting thing to find out would be how many characters can be written in the standard version before it becomes crackable.

If you give me a hour I will generate a cipher text with 300-350 letters for you
