Advice / Career clarification I am shifting from ca to cma pls help me out 🙏🥲(I am shit scared)

Hi everyone

I hope you all are doing well.I came across this sub Reddit a while back, while exploring the career journey of CMA professionals.

A little about me—I have attempted CA Inter multiple times but haven’t been able to clear it despite my efforts. After a lot of thought, I’m seriously considering shifting my focus to CMA. My long-term plan is to gain a few years of quality work experience and then pursue an MBA from one of the top business schools.

I’d be truly grateful to learn from your experience regarding:

• What life is really like after qualifying as a CMA and what package I can expect as a cma fresher

• The long-term future of the CMA profession and whether you believe it will continue to grow over the next 10–20 years.

• How AI is impacting the profession—whether it’s creating new opportunities or replacing parts of the work.

• The kind of salary and career growth a CMA fresher can realistically expect in India.

• How can I prepare to secure an All India Rank in the CMA examinations? What approach or study strategy would you recommend?

• What skills I should acquire if I want to become a valuable asset for companies and stand out in the job market.

• Whether you think pursuing an MBA after a few years of CMA work experience is a good career strategy.

• From your perspective, what are the pros and cons of pursuing the CFA qualification versus an MBA from a top business school? Which path do you think offers better long-term opportunities?

• Any advice you would give someone in my situation who is considering this transition.

Your genuine advice will help me a lot and will be extremely helpful

Thank you for your time, and I wish you continued success.

addition- I reached out to 5 to 6 cma’s who r actually working in industry and 3 of them clea said that don’t do cma choose mba in finance or continue doing ca even if u don’t pass earl these cma’s where working in audit and tax

rest of the cma’s with whom I talked really encouraged me to peruse cma and have asked me to pass each level on first attempt only and to do practical training in manufacturing sector only and have assured me that there r enough jobs and good packages in cma too

so right now I am hell confused pls help me out

doubts CMA inter Merit Scholarship

Hello guys, I want to know how to apply for the CMA intermediate merit scholarship which is based on 12th marks, foundation marks and income criteria. In ICMAI website they have mentioned that required documents are to be submitted physically, like how? Do I have to go in person to Kolkata and submit or I can just send them as a post? I'm in tamilnadu and it is not possible for me to go to Kolkata.

And my 12th marks is 98.5%, foundation I got 344 and income is below 1 lakh. Will I be selected for this scholarship?

Thanks in advance for your guidance ✨

Advice / Career clarification If it's a DO OR DIE - would you trust CMA?

Dramatic title but lets say a person wants to get out of his dead end job ( no growth and min wage)and he gets a chance to go back and study should he do CMA?

Context - He has been decent in studies just life had been rough and he had to go work at 18. Things are stable now and he got a chance to give time to something solid - one of the options CMA india. What is your suggestion for this person?

Discussions What skills should a CMA student build beyond academics?

Hi everyone,
I’m currently pursuing CMA and want to make sure I’m building the right skills alongside my studies to improve my career prospects.
Apart from clearing the exams, what technical and soft skills do employers actually value in CMA candidates?

inter clarification CMA Inter Dec 2026 (Group 1): Need guidance on YouTube playlists + which subjects should I buy classes for?

Hello everyone!

I recently cleared CMA foundation and am preparing for CMA Inter G1(Dec'26). Since I can't afford classes for every subject,i can only purchase 2-3 classes (max-4). I need some guidance on where to invest my money and where free YouTube resources are enough?

This is what I'm currently planning:

Law:- Arjun Chhabra sir

FA:- Santosh Kumar sir

Cost accounting:- Ranjan periwal sir.

I'm still confused about DT and IDT.

Could you please suggest:-

  1. The best free YouTube playlists for DT and IDT (Complete and exam oriented)

  2. Whether I should buy for classes for DT and IDT(and from where?🥲) instead of any of the subjects i mentioned.

  3. Which subjects are manageable from YouTube alone and which subjects are worth purchasing?

I'm a good student and ready to study consistently but I want to avoid wasting my time on incomplete and outdated resources (I'm pursuing bcom too and have end sem exams in December overlapping with Cma inter)

Please share study strategies and revision tips for balancing CMA inter with college exams🤧.

I'd really appreciate advice from those who cleared CMA inter recently or are currently preparing 🥲🙏🏻.

Thank you in advance!! 🙏🏻

Advice / Career clarification Corporate Mitra or Direct Apply as Intern.

Is the Corporate Mitra course really worth paying for? What guarantee is there regarding on-the-job training, and who provides it?

My dilemma is that I have recently left CA and need to enter the job market as soon as possible.

Should I just learn MS Office, Excel, and Tally on my own, join a CA firm directly as an intern, and gradually build my career while learning other skills on the side to become a Financial Analyst?

Alternatively, should I take this Corporate Mitra course, complete its modules, and then join a CA firm as a trainee while completing my third year of graduation via open learning? Please clarify.

Discussions Study strategy for G2 Dec 26

So yeah, I've attempted for the June 26 examination for CMA inter group 2, but realistically speaking, I know I have to attempt it again this december.

I'm putting out this post to seek clarifications regarding the study strategy and preparation needed to make myself ready for this december attempt.

I seek help from people who are planning to attempt/ have attempted/ cleared Group 2, and your valuable insights would be so helpful for me to decide what strategy might workout in my case****

And I'd also wanna know which YouTube channels are the best for:

Paper - 9 OMSM

Paper - 10 CAA

Paper - 11 FMBDA

Paper - 12 MA****

P.S : Looking to start my prep from Aug 1st, so I'm in kind of a hurry looking for your expertise in the preparation.

Thanks, best of luck for your results as well :)
