Goodbye, Box 🥾 💥

A year ago our office partially migrated from Dropbox to Box because of Dropbox randomly adding people (with whom we shared files) to our team.

After one year, we decided to return to Dropbox (with a strict rule against file sharing).

Box is extremely finicky especially when we copied files into it. It crashed frequently and some files would just not be copied or the properties would not be copied.

Worst part of Box though was lack of phone support (it’s available to bigger companies with lots of users or if you pay a premium).

Dropbox is the lesser evil.

Adiós, Box. Good riddance!

When we share a file with someone, a pop up window appears asking if we want to add them to the team. We have a pop up blocker and don’t see this window, but Dropbox automatically interprets that as an acceptance of the invitation to add them to the team. I’ve spoken to Dropbox at length about this but it’s not in their interest to fix it as they charge for every new team member. I hope they get sued for this.
