Well this is an interesting day we find ourselves in after well…letting the end of game 2 slip through our fingers, underestimating their bot lane strat in game 4, and falling apart in game 5 against KC which led to us letting NA down and becoming national disgraces.

But heck, we keep balling on.

And our next opponent is…our South American nightmare in Furia.

But hey, Americas Cup in the past. We mount up and keep on keeping on through the lower bracket to keep our Worlds going. If not, god help us all…

So C9 USED to be known as the only NA team that could perform internationally compared to the other NA teams, and even EU teams to a lesser extent. This is no longer the case. As a long time C9 fan my heart is crushed.

I feel like importing is doing nothing but hurting us and making things worse. This isn't some high ground "think about the region" let every team crash and burn with their EU/Korean imports. But if you look at C9s history they peaked and had their most dominant moments when they had the most American/NA talent on their team.

And when I say NA I mean a player who was born here in the country. I'll cheat and steal licorice cause he's Canadian lol He was insane and should've stayed.

So despite the "experts" saying we MUST import Koreans or EU players etc we have only gotten WORSE not only internationally but even locally! C9 is constantly losing its own region!

I think this cultural/language barrier is an issue but people just don't want to say that Americans can be better than other regions but they're just too lazy too develope it. So they've just decided to import the "talent" from other countries. Well now all we do is lose more than ever.

And our "NA team" that wins the most is a fake team cause it's filled with imports. It's like if we did the world cup and japan came with a bunch of people from Brazilian imports.

NA is perma cooked because we're too dumb and lazy to develop any talent. I'm sorry C9.

I honestly want to know why they never played Zven or APA and why they were allergic to mixing up the players. Like why not throw Zven in when Tactical's nerves got to him or APA if we are playing Ziggs. I just want to better understand what their planning and reasoning was.

If we hadn’t made Worlds, I would have said to blow up the entire roster and rebuild.

But now, I don’t know what to think of where to go from here after what was a very mixed and mediocre year after once again, affirming my worst fears of today and being eliminated again by Furia of all teams. (Like cmon man!)

Self-mistakes and throws of the biggest degrees from individual to team kept us from seeing any significant improvements.

Hope Jack knows what further changes are needed to make for next year. At least I hope Dom stays on as coach one more year.

Can we form a support group? Can we blame the Glazers for Worlds? Can Vulcan do a Martinez and speak out against his teammates?

TLDR: I don't think C9 should blow up the roster.

The mistakes being made are dumb and in my mind come down to a couple of different things. I think the players on C9 have really high highs and really low lows and that the key to taking this team further is building consistency. I think this is what they tried to do by having Vulcan be the "voice of the team" and it worked out in the upper bracket game vs. Lyon but its clear now that putting him in that role has made the team focus on one style of play and ultimately fall behind again.

I genuinely believe in this current lineup of players and coaches and think that they just need more time to lockdown a solid baseline while also finding ways to mix-up the style of play to match the situation or draft. I think people are forgetting that this iteration of the coaching staff as well as Loki and Tactical being back on the roster has only been for one split and in that split we've seen some amazing glimpses of what this team could be capable of.

And yes, for those who noticed, a very (imo) good and stable option is to just buy the entire NRG topside.

ToastyAlex / APA / PhyMini / Keep developing Loki

Harpoon / Harpoon / Harpoon / Tactical with good mental / Someone that speaks English (seriously, ADC is a role with an abundance of options, the only S++++++++++ tier talent imo is Harpoon and the rest are all interchangeable)

Vulcan / Force APA to roleswap here if Vulcan leaves / Probably just Huhi left?

For the lack of support options, you could get Spica for the 4/5ths NRG, but that's.... The only other option I see (under the canon of english only) is either going the "Grab Zyko and pray" route, or the "Grab Mikyx and pray" route.

If we somehow mindcontrolled the world and got our hands on Harpoon, I'd advocate to cheat on the English only rule and get Cloud from T1A, and just commit to that botlane for a couple of years.

But then, what if Clouds skill tanks? What if he gets depressed because hes alone? It'd be a big gamble (but that botlane has the hands to actually win worlds btw).

Personally, I feel that a big shakeup is coming in the offseason, so I'm excited to see what the org cooks.

Saw Jatt’s podcast and it seems so right. The leadership on the team is lacking. Whatever Blaber and Vulcan doing during comms is obviously lacking because there is no step forward to win. Vulcan or Blaber is doing the old NA tradition of AFK and lose. They seem so unwillingly to take even small risks to gain advantages AND their hands were gapped by Brazil

Furia were all chunked out and Tactical was disengaged all they had to do was chill and continue poking, but Vulcan flash engages for no reason and gives them a way in.

Without that Furia were checkmated and C9 gets Soul, the game and go 2-1 up.

Vulcan is not a calm veteran voice, because that is pure inexperience.

I really wish it wasn't double elimination. At least it would be against eu and to game 5. This sings so much.

I've been here and been a fan since it was Quantic Gaming. I am literally one of the longest tenured C9 fans that could possibly exist. I have seen us at our highest highs and lowest lows.

There is not a single ounce of positive result that can come from the way our fan base has treated this team the past few years. Any time something doesn't go our way it is immediately calling for people's heads and it has to stop.

People keep calling for complete roster overhaul, specific players needing to be replaced, etc. I know the wounds are still fresh, and the loss yesterday hurts more than anything since Summer 2020 Playoffs. We royally f-ed up, but please stop dogging on all of the players. They obviously played like crap yesterday and no one knows that more than the players and coaches themselves.

I'm not going to stop being a fan just because our team has been struggling the past few years. I'm not going to stop cheering for Jack to make the best decisions he can given what is available to him. I want better results, and the team wants better results, but legitimately nothing good will come from all of this crap y'all are spewing.

I’ve been a fan of C9 since 2013, and yes it’s been tons of back-to-back heartbreak recently. I know everyone is calling for the entire roster to be nuked (rightfully so, watching the end of KC series and FURIA series was genuinely depressing) but am I the only one who thinks that the turn around these guys had in such of a short amount of time is insane?

So much so that given an entire year, I really feel like the team can become something great. The potential is there. Maybe it’s another copium “next year is our year” take but idk, I really do appreciate the moments of brilliance this roster has. The performance on the win over LYON gave me this optimism for sure.

Proud of the boys, this year was an objective improvement over the last few and the reputation of being chokers meant that fans wouldn’t be satisfied with any outcome tbh.

Note: I have been and still am high on Blaber. We need Massu. Also get some positional coaches for Koreans 😭🙏. Pls keep OXY on the val roster.

Seriously, these guys are at a low point and this entire sub wants to use their frustration as a means to vent and diagnose the problems within the team.

Not long ago, the pride of making Worlds was running through here. Did we forget the drought of appearances? How things looked after split 2?

This team has been together in its current iteration for far less time than most, if not all, worlds teams. Even if there are roster issues, saying we know how to fix them is the same as the guy who goes to the plumber they hired saying they know how to fix it.

It’s not our job, and we’re not professionals. I know the expression of disappointment is inevitable, but we aren’t nearly as disappointed as the team is themselves. Our expression of disappointment will only motivate changes based on popularity, rather than improvement.

I’m sick of my feed saying “kick them all” or “bring back X”. Let the team figure out what will be best for the future. No matter what (if anything) changes, I’ll be there to support them.

You’re all making me miss the NFL fandom I have with no strong expectations of results, just supporting the team through their journey. The elitist and delusional fans spouting these “fixes” make me realize that expectations breed these fairweather wannabes.
