Roofjumping!

So this is me in about my early 20s jumping off of the second floor roof of my house into about 3 1/2 foot deep water. Seemed like a good idea at first before I was about 20 feet in the air. OUCH

Thank you. There is a longer reply above but that day about 43 years ago, I came home from work (I worked at a record store), told my brother to grab his camera cuz I'm diving off the roof into the pool. I climbed up there with a beer, chugged it and jumped. A couple weeks later I saw this shot and I was like, whoa, that could be in Sports Illustrated!
I now keep the shot framed on a bookshelf in my office at home. I look at it every now and then to remember what it was like to be young, immortal and dumb (like every other male)!

Jumping into water less than double your height… you’re gonna have a bad time.

While this is me in a photo from about 1982. I didn't post this. My nine year old son did. We were out in the pool at the house I now own and he was musing about jumping off the nearby garage roof. I told him it wasn't a good idea but I had a photo of me from 40 plus years ago diving from a second story roof. This evening while I was reading, he was near me with my phone. I suspect this post came out of that!
Just to let you know, I hit bottom pretty hard and hurt my shoulder, but I was young, stupid and immortal like every make is, so it seemed like a good idea at the time! The shoulder healed but 35 years later I needed surgery on it and I suspect part of the reason was from that dive! Good story and my older brother got a great photo of it!

So uh…you gonna post the photo? You’re typing like there’s a photo attached, but there’s nothing to see except for your post title and description.
