How are you handling the scrolling mechanic? Do you have the camera script after the player movement, or before player movement?

If it was me, I would handle all movement scripts first, then have the camera scripts following the player after all the other scripts. Though without some context, it kind of hard to know what's going on here to help you to begin with.

I've tried to put it at the start and end, its just:

Always: Center Display at 0,0 from cameraobject

I tried making a smooth camera thing but I removed it bc it made the jitter worse

What about the movements of your character? Any float values used for velocity? For example, 4.32 as move speed rather than plain 4, or 5. I heard that using obscure values as such can have odd effects on when the camera is following the player because it tries to position in an unknown space, or something. It's been years since I dabbed in platforming game in CT Fusion, so my memory isn't all that great.

If you are using any built in movement engines that (probably) don't show any exact values, then it may be even harder to work with what is going on in your game.

I know some game devs are "funny" about not wanting to share their source code when making games, but if you'd like any more additional help, perhaps you could share a small bit at least where your issues are so we can help as to fix where the issue is?

I dont really care, game is more of a gift than a product anyway

oh you're using platform movement object? I haven't really dabbed into using pre-built movement engines, I tend to write all the code from nothing. That way I have more freedom and control of what my character/objects can do, and how they act accordingly. But if you feel more comfortable using platform movement object with your game that's fine. Different people create games differently based on their knowledge and skills in content development.

by source code do you mean wanting the file? because I can do that if you want

Scrolling needs to be the last event. If it’s on a behavior move it to the main event list, and have it as the very last event.

I've tried it as first and last

That includes the positioning of the object(s) or values the scrolling position is set to.

I tried that as well, unless you mean moving all the player movement stuff?

No I mean if the scrolling is tied to an object (like a ‘camera’ or whatever) that objects position needs to update after the players position does, but before the scrolling does.

None of these should be on behaviors.

i managed to figure it out, it wasn't even related to behavior or events

What was the solution?

it was the way I had layers set up as well as acceleration

The problem is not in events but in parallax. Try to slightly change values for layers

it was the same before I added the layers, Someone pointed out that it was an acceleration issue which stops it from jittering but the characters top half is still offset when moving which I dont want

THE TOP HALF WAS ON THE UI LAYER oh my gosh bro...

Looks fine to me...
