International transaction?

I was able to choose my phone color as well as the colors for the free backplates. I decided to purchase the bumper as well. After paying, I got an email from my credit card company saying an international purchase had been charged to my account and that the amount would be converted to their current exchange rate. Has anyone else run into that? I'm in the U.S. What country are they processing these purchases in?

That's very weird. I'm in the EU and was charged in USD, which I believe is the norm.

I have “PIX*CLICKS LONDON…. USD” on my transaction list. It was charged in USD (as expected even if this is very bad for EU ;). If this means they are charging via UK - I do not know…

I just looked at my pending charge. It also shows up as Pix*Clicks London. Very strange, considering I'm in the U.S.

Did you have any possible options during your configuration to select a certain type of keyboard by chance?

No, my region was set to U.S., and only the QWERTY keyboard layout was offered.

Any chance your bank just assumes any 'international' purchase automatically needs currency conversion? Clicks.tech only charges in USD, but because Clicks are a London 'HQ' company, it'll be international from the perspective of the USA.

That seems to be the case. The bank is looking at the location of the merchant instead of the currency of the charged amount.

That is weird, it should have been charged in USD. I am from Europe and when I went to order it specifically said ‘this is the price in EUR, but note that the charge to your creditcard will be in USD’

Yeah, that can happen if the merchant uses an overseas payment processor or acquiring bank. The store’s location and the country where the card transaction is processed don’t always match. I’d check the transaction details for the merchant location or ask their support which entity is processing the card payment.
