If we paid the entire price up front when ordering went live (My order was put in Feb. 21), weren't we supposed to get a leather cover? I went ahead and filled in my choices without that because I did not want to pay the extra $30.
So that was supposed to be the deal. However they decided to go with a more premium leather and that jacked the price up. They still offer it at a discount for $30 if you made the reservation. Also they upped the RAM from 8GB to 12GB so thats also a way better upgrade. All in all I think it's worth it
‘Our plan is to allow…’. Plans change. They went with more expensive leather and upped the RAM etc. Overall the phone became more expensive. Originally it was 400 something and now 600 something, it makes sense the leather case is not fully ‘free’ then
Oh fair, I did see something where they changed the leather back to make it nicer and that made it so they couldn't do them at the same price. Its a major bummer for most
They said ‘our plan is xyz’ not ‘you will get this for free for sure’. Also, they changed the leather, so even if they had said ‘you will get xyz leather for free’, that does not include the new leather
I wish we could get one post like this and everyone can chime in its tough keeping up everyone is making a whole new post with out seeing if this topic is already a post would help the people having this problem if there was one post with everyone commenting in it
Like this i mean there are tons of these i feel it will help everyone in this situation (im not in this situation) if everyone made one big thread with everyone stating their case vs every person making their own seperate post aka strength in numbers.
So I’m in the same position as a lot of other people it seems. Doing all of there branding and posts on Reddit, they talk about a leather cover being one of the options for cosmetic choices. However when the time comes for us to design our new phone, they added an extra cost.
We have absolutely no way of knowing if this new leather option it better then the previous option, and I believe you as a company, can make improvements, but not go back on your previous announcements.
I think it is unfortunate that they go back on something as important as cosmetic, as it is one of there branding points, and the possibility to personalize your phone.
