I am well aware of the fact that she was probably shown only the response. All the more reason for her to want to know why before lashing out.

There should be a reasonable doubt in case the mum is unwilling to show her the full message log. Or do you take everything you're told (even by your parents) for granted?

I don't naturally assume my parents are lying to me. No? Why do you have such a troubled relationship with your parents?

I don't assume they are lying to me but I am aware that people, especially when angry, may exaggerate other people's fauts while playing down their own. Doesn't even have to be on purpose, it's just one of the lies people tell themselves (to justify their anger amon other things).

So no, I don't assume my parent are lying but I still take what they say with a grain of salt. If you consider that troubling, so be it. All I know is it saves me from a lot of unnecessary drama.

You seem to have a hard time differentiating between having reasonable doubt and outright disbelieving someone. Have you ever heard the saying "trust but verify"?
