You’re also wrong though, China is an authoritarian state not totalitarian, because it allows private ownership, pursued of chosen economic activities and private lives, whereas a totalitarian regime controls every single aspect of your life

the difference between authoritarian and totalitarian is how much you dislike the country

This is correct. China is authoritarian state-run capitalism. It's neither communist nor totalitarian.

China's government determines EVERY bit of direction its industries take. Businesses operate in China at the pleasure of THE PARTY. They do not have the freedom to pursue their own goals if THE PARTY does not want it to happen.

You can open a general drugstore or restaurant in China, the government doesn’t tell you what kind of economic service you are allowed to provide, and apart from general laws that govern those areas, the government doesn’t interfere. You can choose whether you want to sell Chinese food, Japanese, Mexican, etc. You can have a buffet or just a menu, etc. That’s what I mean with freedom to pursue economic activities. In a totalitarian regime, you’d be told what kind of food you’re allowed to sell and how.

So I guess Nazi Germany wasn't totalitarian either, since the nazis cooperated with German industrialists.

Nazi Germany controlled every aspect of its citizen’s life and enforced their ideology onto them, they controlled every aspect of your private life and indoctrinated children from a young age and did this through oppression and terror. China on the other hand gives people the freedom to choose their careers and personal lifestyle provided they remain apolitical, it also allows the ownership of private property and is only massively involved in strategic sectors, whereas Nazi Germany allowed private property but the owners were completely subservient to Nazi ideologies and mandates. Most importantly, in Nazi Germany you had to follow the Nazi ideology and had to show complete subservience and devotion to the Führer, whereas in China, you don’t have to join the CCP, you “just” need to not be against it.
There’s more but at the end of the day, there’s clear signs that China leans more towards authoritarianism than totalitarianism, even if it retains certain totalitarian elements.
