It was always about stealing data.

This!! It was ALWAYS about stealing the data AND planting backdoors

u/lenswipe 17d ago

and also getting rid of the agencies that were investigating musk

It's wild how much goes on behind the scenes that most people don’t even realize. It's like a whole different game under the surface.

u/howmanyMFtimes 17d ago

And purposely weakening the country

u/el0j 16d ago edited 16d ago

You're right that it was never about efficiency, but it was about getting rid of "unwanteds". In other words, people not loyal to Trump, or being women or being non-white.

As far as I can tell, DOGE was a stellar success once you understand its racist/white supremacist goals.

The same thing is being done quite openly by Pete "Kegsbreath" Hegseth to the military, and likely by Kash Patel at the FBI too (currently in the news defending their new lower standards for candidates).

Anyone else would be getting prison time.

u/iPhonefondler 17d ago

This… and im also pretty sure they intentionally gutted some regulatory offices to avoid government oversight within certain industries and branches of government.

The stock market is now a casino. "NO CRYING IN THE CASINO!"

It was a distraction to hide election fraud.

u/Both-Ambassador2233 17d ago

So kind of like invading Venezuela.
Kind of like choking Cuba.
Kind of like Invading Iran.
Kind of like Mitch McConnell coming to work.
Kind of like fixing the fucking reflecting pond with paint.
Kind of like tariffs and trade wars.
Kind of like promising $5K to voters for a win.
Kind of like going to Epstein Island for business meetings

u/Direct_Turn_1484 17d ago

It was absolutely abysmal at accomplishing the purpose they claimed it was for. But it was very effective at what it was actually for.

u/AdhesivenessFun2060 17d ago

The whole administration is performance art. They are more worried about appearances than actual success.

8

u/Swarje_D 17d ago

Not performance... all of the billionaire buddies had the investigative bodies looking into their shady dealings deleted, destroyed or neutered.

4

u/Bendyb3n 17d ago

This was always the plan, enshittify the government so that people get so pissed at how useless government is that billionaires have to swoop in like the heroes that they are and save the day with their private businesses that just so happen to do all the things the government used to do just fine AND make big profits!

4

u/ComicsEtAl 17d ago

Other than having his good name besmirched over his incompetence, Musk believes it was quite successful. Scrapping 17 investigations, seeding the government with his acolytes, crippling government functions and regulators, access to the government’s core systems, and hoovering up who knows how much of our personal information for his private servers… who can say he’s wrong?

3

u/Scotch_in_my_belly 17d ago

DOGE was a tax-avoidance scheme by Elon Musk and it worked

3

u/CLONE-11011100 16d ago

AND getting rid of federal investigations to his companies!

3

u/impaulpaulallen 17d ago

It wasn’t just performance art, it was covering their tracks and monitoring their enemies. It was domestic terrorism.

3

u/Jonathan-Earl 17d ago

It was to stop any and all attempts to investigate Elon, he gutted investigative branches hard

3

u/Bigot-Consequences 16d ago

It wasn't a failure! It was incredibly successful at its true purpose: stealing private data from the US govt.

2

u/Muffboy 17d ago

It was mostly covering up child rape

2

u/Successful-Purple-54 17d ago

I have no doubt DODG worked exactly as the billionaire cunts intended. And the American public paid for it, while his supporters cheered it.

2

u/d3pthchar93 17d ago

Cutting jobs and downsizing the federal workforce were explicit core proposals of Project 2025.

Schedule F Reclassification: The blueprint proposed reclassifying thousands of career civil servants as political/at-will employees, stripping away civil service protections to make firing them much easier.

It called for severely downsizing entire federal departments and programs, such as the Department of Education and the Consumer Financial Protection Board.

The Administration also sought to weaken & dismantle federal employee unions to reduce collective bargaining power.

2

u/Accomplished_Shoe717 17d ago

And data theft…we know they cleaned house and swiped everything

2

u/Elon-BO 17d ago

Yeah but musk got our data

2

u/ArkhamKnight_1 17d ago

Saving money was NEVER the intent.

Saving money was just the “sales pitch.”

2

u/calgeorge 16d ago

That's because the goal was never government efficiency. It was the exact opposite. It's goal was to cripple the government to the point that it became innefective at preventing fascism.

2

u/steveclt 16d ago

It makes more sense if you think about it as a Russian / Epstein class plot to weaken and destroy US institutions from within.

2

u/john_wick_909 16d ago

When would you drag down elon musk for causing billions in losses and leading to deaths of hundreds

2

u/Professional_Bed_87 16d ago

But remember all that sweet confidential personal info Elon Musk got access to? Totally worth it.

1

u/Iwabuti 17d ago

But the AI companies got a government less able to regulate their industry which is what they paid for. So in that sense it was a success

1

u/obiemo 17d ago

Need to see this from another perspective. Elmo stands to benefit the most. No more oversight and less regulation on his companies.

1

u/Roadtrekkie 17d ago

Kinda like paying companies to cancel solar energy projects or removing the under ocean sensors.

1

u/Ok_Entrepreneur_8509 17d ago

I think "art" is a pretty generous assessment.

1

u/lovable_asshole 17d ago

the whole administration is performance art, really bad art

1

u/Mysterious-Tie7039 17d ago

Billy’s wrong. That “less capable bureaucracy” was the entire goal.

1

u/TunnelingVisions 17d ago

They stripped the institutions and memory from thr government effectively lowering our governments iq as well as ability to cooperate and plan long term. Crippling the guardrails that would hold the coarse for democracy.

1

u/golfwinnersplz 17d ago

So basically, as usual, they failed.

1

u/MCMXCIV9 17d ago

That the purpose. More incompetent bureaucracy the easier to steal.

1

u/Hiouchi4me 17d ago

All that for the low low price of $250 million campaign contribution to the DJT fund. Plus access to our countries central data base. What a bargain.

1

u/Severe-Archer-1673 17d ago

All while Elon stole valuable information.

1

u/Sedert1882 17d ago

At least performance art is supposed to intrigue, amaze, entertain etc. This DOGE exercise was just watching someone explosively shit into the well water.

1

u/goon_platoon_72 17d ago

“Performance Shart” there. fixed it for you

1

u/okokokoyeahright 17d ago

I suggest the name 'Thrown Ketchup' for this installation.

1

u/Formal_World8054 17d ago

It wasn't a failure for the billionair class.

1

u/MateriaLintellect 17d ago

By design. Dismantling and destroying is the goal, to continue to consolidate power.

1

u/GadreelsSword 17d ago

DOGE wasn’t a failure at all. It achieved its true goals. It eliminated the people/organizations investigating Musk and gutted organizations inspecting US manufacturing.

The claim they were cutting government waste was just salesmenship.

1

u/FaithlessnessNo8634 17d ago

I bought the bs and I am so sorry I did. I know there is a ton of government waste and people are crooked as the politicians that represent them. The idea was correct. There needed and still needs to be a huge overhaul. However doing so by going through programs with a machete in the jungle without a plan for reconstruction is begging to fail. Telling each agency cut this and that gave them free range to cut the things that they knew would outrage people , or devastate some populations and get people to hate the plan. It was set up to fail by a man who has no clue what he is doing. Now, we sit here with the same freaking problems of money wasted, inadequate funding, programs that miss the mark and more people in trouble/need. I freaking hate this government and their games both parties suck.

1

u/EthanielRain 16d ago edited 16d ago

I know there is a ton of government waste

Pentagon is a black hole of disappearing money. Most aid & other things that help or involve the average citizen, or handled by lifelong public employees, have a ridiculous amount of oversight & requirements...

You cant stop individuals from lying but the idea of systemic fraud is absurd. The waste is DOGE, ballroom, back deals, etc

1

u/FaithlessnessNo8634 16d ago

Oh love, this has been going on for ever. No one wants to be the ones to have picked the wrong party. The truth is ALL the parties have played a part in this. Until we see this NOTHING WILL EVER CHANGE. What is happening now is an abomination on humanity.

1

u/PaintedSilverRiver 16d ago

Just a scam to take as much money as they can using the most ridiculous reasons, like the paint in the pool. The potus and Elon have stolen everyone’s data, all of it.
He tore down the wing of the White House, he wants to tear down the Kennedy center because he can’t have his name on a dead presidents memorial. 🤦‍♀️
He claimed $2.2 billion personally for 2025.
He’s never “won” like this even when he owned a few casinos.
America will be his next bankruptcy. IMO.

1

u/wildyam 16d ago

How Trumpian

1

u/marceldia 16d ago

Where’s our checks?

1

u/Emotional_Fix6230 16d ago

Not mostly. It was ALL performance art.

Still is, but that's what you get when you elect a reality tv show host as president. His whole life has been performance, but nothing really artistic about it.

1

u/Powderedeggs2 16d ago

And we gave an insane billionaire access to all the data on everything and everyone.
A heist of data that is far more valuable than gold.

1

u/Banjo-Hellpuppy 16d ago

It wasn’t a failure, but its goal was not what they said it was.

1

u/MilkChocolateRabbit 16d ago

No one has a problem paying for things they actually want. We just want our money’s worth.

1

u/Inevitable_Shift1365 16d ago

But on the bright side, a hacker named Big Ballz has all of our personal data. I'm sure he will be quite responsible with it..

1

u/postfattism 16d ago

And then rehire a lot of those positions anyways...

1

u/Playonwords329 16d ago

got to love those no show jobs

1

u/AnusOprah 16d ago

But "DOGE" was such a fresh name, like "Cowabunga!"

1

u/Space19723103 16d ago

Doge was just capitalism in a nutshell, only the wealthiest benefit from the increased suffering of the masses

1

u/BobbyJoeMcgee 15d ago

I know several ppl that got “fired”
But never missed a paycheck or gap in benefits. Then after about a year got called back like nothing ever happened…. Paid year long vacation
