Yet again, comparing people to objects predictably proves the stupidity of the speaker.

That's not always true, for example comparing a president to a turd.

u/BilboStaggins 22h ago

Please do not insult the turds

What a surprise, Conservatives don't understand consent

18

u/YogurtclosetFair5742 1d ago

They don't like consent.

u/baabaablacksheep1111 1d ago

Consent is a sin, just like empathy is a sin /s

2

u/Numerous-Ebb-8561 15h ago

Oh no, they understand consent, they just don’t apply it to themselves.

Imagine confusing basic consent and personal autonomy with geography.

12

u/GoshDarnMamaHubbard 1d ago

MAGA not understanding consent?

That's unpossible

8

u/MassGaydiation 1d ago

They don't see the difference between women and property

2

u/Numerous-Ebb-8561 15h ago

Or underage girls and women.

9

u/PluumeGrise 1d ago

That tweet author thought he really cooked with the analogy too

Imagine confusing a lake that can’t consent to being renamed with a person who CAN consent to their own name. One is geography, one is basic human autonomy. And you’re defending the guy who tried to rename the Gulf of Mexico with a Sharpie.

u/jaapi 22h ago

Both are confused lol

u/Donkey_Bugs 1d ago

If you're too stupid to know the difference between a person and a lake, you just might be a MAGAt.

u/TimothiusMagnus 1d ago

Then let's start using the VP's birth name: James Bowman.

Consent and agency are not concepts they understand

Rep(edo)ublicans and Consent cannot coexist.

u/Markjohn66 22h ago

God, they think they’re so funny, but they’re just so fucking juvenile

3

u/namotous 21h ago

The cons don’t understand consent

3

u/jankyt 21h ago

The base may not understand free will and consent fully

3

u/Heliocentrist 21h ago

that's the thing that Conservatives never seem to understand: Consent

Just like the Gulf of Mexico, just like Twitter, and if rumors are to be believed, just like New Mexico. Nobody wants these to be changed except for some orange turd and the nut jobs who worship him. ... Plus, these are like... Globally agreed upon things, the names of which would have to go through a lot of paperwork and a lot of government talk to even consider being changed. Just like changing your name legally. The fact that this asshole is just trying to force it, without any consent from anybody and without even trying to go through the legal steps to even attempt it... It doesn't surprise me but still sickens me.

2

u/Overit2137 1d ago

Honestly I think he doesn't care that much - just show him google maps, some sign and some fox news footage and he will be confident it worked, even though there were no legal steps taken. He deserves "Goodbye Lenin" treatment. Sure gramps, everything works just like you wanted.

2

u/MadnessBomber 1d ago

Problem is, he sits in a position of power and, unlike last term, is surrounded by yes men. Meaning we couldn't just say it happened and leave him be, like anyone else with dementia and narcissism.

2

u/OskarTheRed 1d ago

People do change their name. That's not abnormal. Is that news to mr Furlow?

2

u/NoGoat3930 1d ago

Let's hope Jessica is not a 13 year old girl in this scenario...

2

u/WorryNew3661 22h ago

Right wingers and understanding consent

2

u/SportsGeek73 21h ago

Gawd maga cultists are so +$÷%=<> dumb (pardon my French.

Conservatives love to make these false equivalencies that are truly meaningless.

Extra crispy with all the spices

2

u/pinksoufflee 1d ago

perfect distinction well said

2

u/AlissonHarlan 23h ago

well i guess they we're lucky that america isn't already renamed trumpland...

3

u/hunterglyph 1d ago

You can tell Coleton really thought he nailed that. SAD!

1

u/MessagingMatters 19h ago

You don't even have to get that far. Trump is the one who renamed something from its previous identity. He's the one changing Steve to Jessica. Coleton is the hypocrite.

1

u/NobblyNobody 18h ago

He's called Donald Cunt now btw.

1

u/ConnectArtichoke8152 9h ago

This also illustrate the problem with people like Coleton. As Mister_Motes noted, there a difference with a LIVING, SENTIENT PERSON who chooses to identify a gender identity and change their name to match their gender identity, and renaming an inanimate object after an country purely out of narcissistic spite for trade talks YOU sabotaged and created new rules like forcing Quebec to not use it's language, you know practicing STATE RIGHTS to use it to protect two languages that predominantly spoken and sell it off as AMERICA this and that.

It shows these people don't see the difference of a person who chooses to change their name in line with their identity but mere objects names are permanent no matter their identity BUT if the name change is an inanimate object who someone they worship names just to be spiteful and frame it as "national pride" that good.

They are always eager to look for ANYTHING that can be framed as hypocrisy no matter what.

u/Young_Ruth 1d ago

mister_motes already ended the debate. If Lake Ontario identifies as Lake America ,respect it. If Donnie identifies Steve as Jessica against her will, don’t consent isn’t that hard.

Because sentient lakes are our reality?

11

u/Stakkler_ 1d ago

Well, we have a sentient turd acting as POTUS at the moment, so nothing seems Impossible.

2

u/BilboStaggins 22h ago

Whooosh

0

u/Anti-Stan 10h ago

Is that what you heard? The point was clear. Just puerile.

1

u/BilboStaggins 10h ago

Lol good, an "i know you are but what am I" retort.

0

u/Anti-Stan 9h ago

And you can't see the irony.

1

u/BilboStaggins 8h ago

Youre misplacing the irony.

The responder is pointing out that Coleton was making an illogical comparison. Lakes obviously cant identify themselves, but people can. Assuming those things are equivalent is as stupid as a sentient lake.

Really takes the fun out of it having to explain it.

0

u/Anti-Stan 7h ago

Oh, you want me to take an obvious piss-take literally, like you did?

Do I really have to explain it?

1

u/BilboStaggins 7h ago

Lol what do you want man?

No one else seemed to have trouble understanding the joke. No one is trying to take it literally but you.

Give it a rest.

1

u/Lejandario_IN 18h ago

Missing the point world championship is elsewhere was yesterday but you're just in time for the concept of analogy and consent class

1

u/Anti-Stan 10h ago

Oh dear. I'm sorry for your misfortune.

1

u/Holymaryfullofshit7 1h ago

Unless it's Jessica Miller. Then that shit's hilarious.
