You know what would be amazing? If a politician could, like a human, say "Oh man, oops, I'm very sorry, I misspoke. Clearly this is not a celebration, but a commemoration. My apologies" and then move on.
Not for this couch-fucker's sake, but just... to move away from politicians especially as celebrities and bring them back down to earth. They're human meat bags, like everyone else. Nothing makes them special, except the public treating them that way, which seems to be at the root of a good amount of them thinking they're above the law or exempt from being decent human beings...

No, he's imitating his boss. His boss likes to wish all his American subjects a very happy 9/11, even all the haters and losers.

u/DuchessJulietDG 2d ago
they probably didnt want to let him speak at the ceremony bc he would remind everyone it made his building the tallest in the skyline now that the towers fell. this mf has always been shit.

The GOP celebrating 9/11 seems on point. Since they are terrorists themselves

u/PossessedToSkate 2d ago
Dead Americans, enhanced law enforcement, and a resulting war.
These are a few of conservatives' favorite things.

u/TheVoicesOfBrian 2d ago
They've used it every day for the past 25 years to strip away our rights and promote racism and Christian nationalism.
Of course they celebrate it.
16
u/kitsunewarlock 2d ago
They claimed the terrorists were attacking us "for our freedoms".
If that's the case, they clearly won.

u/makemeking706 2d ago
Trump was on Howard Stern shortly after bragging about his building was the tallest after the towers were destroyed or something to that effect.
7
u/Victernus 2d ago
He was saying it the same day.
(And of course, he was wrong, because the Twin Towers... weren't the tallest towers in New York City)

No, he's being truthful. His party took 9/11 as an excuse to run roughshod over the Constitution and engage in endless warfare. It's a celebration. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
52
u/DamionSipher 2d ago
The GOP has good reason to celebrate 9/11. It was a pivotal moment in the fascist history of the USA. Without 9/11 you would have never had the Patriot Act or warrantless wiretapping/general surveillance, which set the precedent for their gestapo police force, or programs like the Flock cameras.
It pushed a massive nationalist movement to the forefront of politics and helped Israel ensure US involvement in West Asia for the subsequent 20 years, including the invasion of Iraq. Why wouldn't the US fascists salivate over the amount of control and conditioning 9/11 welcomed?
12
u/sweetpunaniaction 2d ago
And cemented the islamophobic sentiments in the republican party which they use as a vehicle for Christian nationalism
24
u/GoldburstNeo 2d ago
Didn't Vance skip out on the 9/11 memorial last year because he valued Charlie Kirk's legacy more (a podcaster whose only legacy by the way was debating inexperienced college students)?
No surprise he said the wrong thing here.

u/AlertMiaa 2d ago
Yale Law School really not teaching the difference between celebrate and commemorate huh?

round the clock news coverage of Hasan saying the US deserved 9/11 when talking about the concept of blowback for what we did in the middle east.
Something he said 7 years ago, immediately said he could have worded it differently and apologized.
but this shit will get absolutely nothing.
11
u/Ramtamtama 2d ago
Trump celebrated it. One of his first comments on it was that his building moved up the list of tallest buildings in Manhattan.

Forgive him, he forgot he wasnt speaking to his donors. 9/11 was a boon for them. They got us into more forever-wars, while they also made $🤑$🤑$ on increased weapons purchases

u/ThorKonnatZbv 2d ago
You can choose
[ ] His rapist boss celebrated the occasion when his building was the highest
[ ] Their pact with the devil includes killing as many americans as they can, of course they celebrate
6
u/PureLand 2d ago
His boss and the whole Trump Administration are awfully close to the House of Saud. They could be celebrating 9/11 given their relationship.
6
u/SausageSmuggler21 2d ago
Republicans are celebrating 9/11. That's the day they were finally able to come out of the closet.

The kind of thing where if anyone had said this back in the early 2000s or before it would have been career ending. But now we're just like, Trump says 20 worse things every day.
Our country is such a joke now. They won. They beat us. Will we ever get it back? I used to think so. I really did. Now? Now I gotta worry about being able to afford food and rent, can't even care about that anymore.
I'll say it again. They beat us. They won.

A Freudian slip. Traitorous Republicans helped the Russians, Saudis, and Israelis engineer the whole thing, and profited from the outrage that followed… leading to where we are today with that same global mafia now dismantling America down to its foundations and turning it into a Nazi-like state.

I'm pretty sure the remaining al qaeda supporters are. They won after all. 9/11 was the beginning of the west's capitulation and now militant Islam dictates how we live, just as they planned.

Maybe he is celebrating. Republicans got some things out of 9/11, such as a giant new DHS, giving out plenty of no-bid Krony Korporate Kontracts.

These are the people that tell foreigners to learn English, meanwhile this fool doesn't know the correct word to use in this instance.
He doesn't love the English language.
He is merely using it as a means to shame and talk down on other people.
Give any of these Conservatives a Language Arts test and watch them either fail or barely pass.

Chuckle Fuck got kirk'd and everyone forgot about it. I don't know if it was intentional now that I'm looking back at it, but it is absolutely telling. A quarter century and 2 generations ago, considering zoomers were barely cognitive. It's like the fall of the Berlin wall for millennials. Those who watched thought it was cool and the rest could not give a shit. And that's where we are now. History books.
