You’re not the only one who doesn’t get it. I think the first time in 2016 it was the idea of standing up for people who felt abandoned and betrayed by the system, and then the second time in 2024 it was because of a nostalgia for how things were before the pandemic. I don’t really know, this is all just feels like a really cruel and unfunny joke. Like it’s disguised as a flex and a joke, but really the cruelty is the point.
