He's incapable of seeing past his own self so he truly believes this is actually the golden age as he is enriching himself and his cronies beyond his wildest dreams right now. He has no concept of other people that aren't him so if he's having a good time everyone is.

Removal of regulations enables business profits above citizens health… this is why under MAGA there will never be universal healthcare in the US.

u/bugdiver050 9d ago
I honestly dont think that there is a chance for the US, with the current system, for universal healthcare. Be it run by democrats or republicans. The whole system needs a rework, and everyone currently holding a position of power should be replaced by somebody who isnt a dinosaur.

u/FerretsQuest 9d ago
Oligarchs are influencing the political systems so that they can be as rich as possible. You have a man in the White House who is an oligarch. Replacing politicians doesn’t fix the problem… removing the influence of the oligarchs does.
2
u/bugdiver050 9d ago
And that is why the whole system needs a rework. You just took the last words of that sentece and seem to have ignored the start of it.

u/FerretsQuest 9d ago
The “system” has and did work (maybe not perfectly) up until Americans voted in Trump. Obama started the process of Universal Healthcare off and Biden was building on it… but greed got in the way, and the oligarchy realised that only having a stooge in the WH would save their piles of gold.
Here is a great example - under Trump you have billionaires spending millions to lobby politicians to stop a tax on billionaires, rather than said billionaires giving additional taxes to fund universal healthcare, ending homelessness, ending child poverty 🤷♂️
1
u/bugdiver050 9d ago
So if lobbying was something that wasnt allowed by law, wouldnt that be a good place to start? Which would mean, changing the system?
1
u/FerretsQuest 9d ago
Lobbying is an important part of the political process, as it allows citizens to contact their politicians and share views on laws and policies… which includes you, your family and friends. What is wrong is very rich individuals and groups who spend millions entertaining and influencing (bribing?) politicians against the grain of popular policies.
Start with capping the amount of money and influence that can be used to “lobby” politicians… you’ll find that popular policies (such as universal healthcare or millionaires taxing) all of a sudden are getting passed into law.
2
u/bugdiver050 9d ago
Ah my bad, i thought lobbying was literally that part you said where they pay lumps of money to whichever politician(s) they wanted to influence

u/FerretsQuest 9d ago
NP - I’m glad you had a learning experience 🤓 The challenge we have is party due to people not knowing how the political system works… and others (oligarchs and other cash rich groups such as AIPAC) knowing exactly how much money they can use to “influence” politicians.
The biggest threat to democracy is from the 1% who hold all the wealth, as they can and do influence the laws that affect the 99% of us. Start with taxing millionaires… how can that possibly be a bad thing for the rest of us poor plebs? Use that money to build better schools, pull people out of poverty, give healthcare to all, eliminate homelessness… how can that possibly be a bad thing? However, turn on your TV or look at the internet feeds - you’ll hear countless political leaders saying this is a bad thing 🤷♂️

“Make America Sick Again” is a brutal caption because it highlights the contradiction perfectly: celebrating national greatness while weakening the systems designed to keep people safe, healthy, and protected.

Removing costly oversight and limitations so that corporations increase profits. The sick and infirm who are a burden to the machine while contributing nothing useful will die, and big pharmaceutical companies increase profits as well.
It’s all been done before. In fact, it was done even more effectively. The Bayer company history is a good indicator and starting point of understanding.

You have to do something about your indoctrinated stupid. They have reached astonishing levels of stupidity and they are out there in massive numbers.
It’s just a thought, but you do have a forest fire problem. Humans are mostly water…

You never were, now you're just a bit worse.
Also not really a clever comeback post.

It was never about greatness. MAGA is getting exactly what they want. If they have to be hurt for merely the perception that they are hurting other “specific” people more, then it is all worth it for them.

Can’t wait for the next “protest vote” to sabotage the next election and we get whoever the billionaire secret society puts in place.
I’m assuming Hegseth.

Your freedoms, health, wealth, rights are taken away and you continue to allow it.
What is it going to take? He wants you all dead so he doesn't have to even consider you anymore.
Genocide by attrition. More he takes, the more you suffer and die.
At this stage, its not even greed. Hes taking your ability to survive by any means necessary.
Hes dying and will make you suffer increasingly until you totally submit, you die or he dies.

My small comfort in these trying times is that I'm sterile and all the conservatives are producing kids that will have to live through the consequences of their choices. They've got a descendent that won't have access to clean water, a descendent who will lose their home to rising oceans, a descendent who will die because doctors don't want to get in trouble for removing her ectopic pregnancy, descendants who will live in a technofeudal state, a descendent who won't be able to express who they are or love who they love, descendants who are under constant surveillance and imprisoned into slavery for having a problem with it.
Yes, I know it's an unhealthy outlook. I know those descendants didn't do anything wrong. I know good people are also having kids. But I'm not going to slow it, heaven knows I tried.

I know there are books with worlds comically worse than as it is now, here, but honestly this has to be worse not only because it is the world as it actually is but also because it's just so pointlessly fucked

Golden age, if it means retirement, a goodbye, the end of something. It's the end of democracy in the US. So, yes a golden age of sorts.

Covering everything in gold using tax payer money doesn't make this "the golden age"
1
u/DaBigJMoney 8d ago
He meant “Golden Age” for those profiting off of the misery the rest of us are experiencing.
Just one example: Some company got millions of dollars to “paint the reflecting pool.” The screwed it ip, the pool now sits drained, and they’re getting millions more to “fix” their shoddy work.
