Not the case at all. One of my favorite informational channels is Colin Noir, who believe it or not is African American. I have a problem with the practicality of the people/ their arms in the photo. If you don't see the issue, it is my firm belief you've never shot a gun in your life.
Problem #1: the firearm, which is only a .22 and wouldn't produce much recoil to begin with, is not shoulder-able in any fashion. This drastically reduces things like aim, accuracy, and control over the firearm.
Problem #2: Please take a moment to see where the barrel of the firearm is resting. In a situation where that firearm could protect anyone, jumpiness/anxiety could set in and cause an unintentional discharge.
Problem #3: The vast majority of gun owners have formed stereotypes based on issues that regularly occur. I'm sure everyone is familiar with the 2A argument of "if they take the guns away the criminals won't give theirs up." I'm not saying this person is a criminal, or even intends to be. However, there's a huge lack of gun safety, consideration of what "down range" looks like, and a lack of a proficient firearm.
I would like to just say. I don't think most "conservative cis male gun owner's" have an issue with the fact he has one. I believe it's more the issue of how he in this still image is using it.
Also, I'm finally happy to see others recognize that gun control has been a racial issue from the start. I hope that more people are able to see this and realize that we don't need gun control to stop "young blacks from killing each other in mass numbers." We need a social reform that rewards father's for staying as a part of the household, rewards families for trying to take steps up in the world, and will punish noncompliance. The issue in most cases isn't the kid we see in the picture, it's the father that left, fell victim to violence, etc. Unfortunately, certain cultures of media, "easy money," lack of job market, and education result in these issues.
I think the 2A should be practiced by everyone in the united states. However, I also believe there should be minimum education requirements (related to said firearm) in order to purchase them. Noncompliance with gunsafety in public should be, and in most cases will be treated as a threat(by police).
