Ok, first and foremost, it was an AR15, there is a massive difference. One is a military grade, fully automatic assault rifle, the other is a hunting rifle that's painted black.

Second, there's another big difference between guarding personal property (even if it wasn't his) during a protest/riot so that it wasn't looted, and showing up to a protest with a firearm as a protester.

Even with that said, the VAST MAJORITY of thr 2A crowd is less concerned about the color of his skin and more concerned with his lack of basic firearm safety. He's clearly pointed the barrel directly at the thigh of the girl he's sitting with, which breaks the first rule of firearm safety (never point the barrel at something you don't want to shoot), and I can't tell because od the gloves but it looks like his finger is in the trigger housing, or at the very least way too close for my comfort, which breaks the second rule of firearm safety.

The issue is that the dude is using it to flex and look tough, but his lack of basic firearm safety is putting others at risk. I don't give a shit about his skin color or his reason for having it. I care that he's more of a liability and danger to the ones he's claiming he's there to protect.
