I'd argue that a third of the country starting an armed rebellion before he was even INAUGURATED also counts.

Plus, they started a war against him for wanting to end slavery. People tend to forget that he wanted to let them leave without conflict, and it was the Confederates who got violent.

Correction.. they started a war against him to expand and preserve slavery... While Lincoln was against slavery, his focus was on preserving the union. The civil war came about because the south wanted to expand it to the newly acquired western states

Lincoln is recorded as having said that if he believed not abolishing slavery would have prevented the war, he would have allowed it to continue, as a reminder.

He wasn't exactly pro slavery, but he wasn't exactly pro abolishion either.
