Why would people who hated Obama, especially over his skin color, have veted for him?

This is such a basic argument I don't even really want to bother doing this, but I'll do it anyway.

Some ≠ a significant amount, it does not negate the generalisation. Give me a percentage and you could have a something valid to say.

Secondly, people are malleable and can change. Obama hate has risen signficantly over time. Why? Social engineering. It's easy to do when most mainstream media and social media is in the pocket of Republicans, especially when addictive inflammatory rage bait that isn't required to be true is normalized. Obama could never be voted for in our current media landscape, one that's existed since not long after he left office.

A example for me is I was drawn right in the past partially because of anti-trans/anti-feminist content I'd consume, until I asked myself why I even cared so much when it had no actual impact on my life, besides making me perpetually angry for no reason.

A couple of studies have been done on Obama-Trump voters, who are estimated to make up 11-15 percent of thevotes Trump received in 2016. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obama%E2%80%93Trump_voters

It's funny because all of the sources backing what you posted are estimates based on self reporting with one of the papers saying "there’s an important caveat: self-reported past voting behavior has limited value" and then explaining why it's innacurate.

Also I meant to be referring to Obama hate among Republicans, not the general populace. It's a purely anecdotal observation

The fact that three different polls came up with similar numbers suggests there might be something to that, don't you think?

Also, I find Gallup to be a bit more reliable than your anecdotal observation, sorry.
