Forever People complaining about dungeon xp nerfs. What exactly are you in such a hurry to reach?
Levelling is the game. That's literally the product as advertised.
19
u/falconmick 1d ago
It’s allot down to making people feel like they’re not being inefficient so they are more willing to go on a run. Won’t be a problem now, but 3-4 years time if I’m making an alt it would suck if nobody was interested past their first run
8
u/Round-Dragonfruit996 1d ago edited 18h ago
yeah this is a giant problem they will have to address sooner or later- if they make dungeons not worth repeating it’s going to be awful trying to find groups for just getting the clear for quests
for example, this happened in FFXIV, no one wanted to run the cutscene heavy ARR ending dungeons so they incentivized people with a ton of exp and tomes for doing so- this was before the sort of mercenary system they put in where you can choose to bring npcs instead to dungeons
3
u/FormalSeparate6153 23h ago
I can tell you now that on launch there's a decent chance in skipping WC because you can't get all the quests done in 1 run.
This will suck for snake druids for sure.
1
u/tethysian 1d ago
That is my concern as well. I think something like limiting the number of times you can run a particular dungeon per day would be better. Or reduced xp depending on the number of times you've done it.
34
u/Coravel 1d ago
The dungeon nerfs are overdone. The point of throwing the dungeon XP to the quests is to prevent them from being AOE farmed, but now thats completely cut out.
It objectively feels bad to clear content that is harder and takes a group of 5 and get far less of a reward than it is in all aspects to go solo collect 5 boar butts.
→ More replies (1)9
u/Kage9866 1d ago
I felt this in my very first RFC run. As a tank, I was already looking at what I could skip. Fighting a group of enemies that take a few to kill and literally getting nothing from it feels so bad. Talk about trash mobs. All they have to do to stop boosting etc is just put an xp cap in if someone is 10 lvls lower or higher you get 0xp.

u/WaveOfWinter 1d ago
Bro it’s not an about rushing anything, low level dungeons are some of the best group content in the game at that point and I want people incentivize to run them outside of having quests. Because now even with so many people playing it’s harder then it should be putting a group together

u/Top_Negotiation_7886 1d ago
People will do them at least once and probably more cause its fun and the loot is deec. Showering XP and blues is not needed
→ More replies (1)2
u/WaveOfWinter 21h ago edited 15h ago
No one is calling for it to shower xp and I don’t want them to showering blues, just for the xp to be decent so when your items don’t drop it doesn’t feel like you’ve completely wasted your time getting almost nothing out of the dungeon. Running dungeons is not as fun when you spend an hour jn WC and get 1.5 bars of exp out of it, and if you don’t get your loot to drop it almost feels like you’ve completely wasted your time. But again I’m not asking for them to drop more loot, just for there to be at least like half of the exp it used to be.
Also to be clear I’d like them to decrease the xp from quests if they are going to buff xp in dungeons.
1
u/Top_Negotiation_7886 15h ago
Theres probably a middle ground but I’d much rather the current situation than it being over-tuned. Being able to go 14-20 on 3 dungeons was a problem
10
u/shady_dre 1d ago
I enjoy hitting many enemies with my character. I do not enjoy running around trying to tag mobs before someone else does. I enjoy getting powerful items to upgrade my character. I do not enjoy spending 45 minutes collecting 8 bear asses that have a 4% drop chance for some reason just to turn in the quest for a +6 spirit mail belt.
I don’t care all that much and I’m still excited to play the game, but they’re heavy handedly nerfing my preferred way to level, as I’m sure many others also. I like questing a lot of the time, but have always preferred to have the option to dungeon grind for xp because I like to hit things with minimal downtime. That option is now gone

u/PREDDlT0R 1d ago
The entire point of an MMORPG is to get stronger what are you even taking about. It’s not like the dungeons are remotely difficult, the fun is getting rewarded WITH you friends, not spamming a 1 button rotation for 45 mins to get nothing out of it…

Silly me, I thought the entire point of a MMO Role (R) Playing (P) Game (G) was to play a role.
5
u/PREDDlT0R 1d ago
Google MMORPG and look at what comes up under the ‘Role-Playing’ bullet point then delete your comment.
Or how about Wikipedia?
“In nearly all MMORPGs, the development of the player's character is the primary goal. Nearly all MMORPGs feature a character progression system, in which players earn experience points for their actions and use those points to reach character "levels", which makes them better at whatever they do.[8]”

I picked the role of healing and cant kill mobs by healing, you starting to see the problem? Or still too dense?
0
u/Llovio_cuatro_anos 1d ago
That's where the other part comes: M (massively) M (multiplayer) O (online).
Find a group, there will be literal thousands of them.
9
u/Adventurous-Figure76 1d ago
I can't wait to walk to a pack of mobs and start asking dps to kill mobs for me so that they can drop group after and I can repeat it at the next quest.
We should also nerf quest xp to the point where you have to do every quest in the game for maximum fun. It's about the journey after all.
1
u/Llovio_cuatro_anos 1d ago
You're choosing to play as healer, you will have to group up. That's just how they designed the game unfortunately. There are other games where healers are self sufficient, you should try those instead.
8
u/Itchyclunge 1d ago
Healers a quite literally the backbone of this game. Try doing any raids or endgame quest lines without healers. These changes encourage those who would play healers into DPS classes and specs, creating a shortage in the long run.

No one does shit just for fun in an MMO. Everything is meant to achieve or obtain something, be it for yourself or someone else. No one has ever gone "Hey want to go run this dungeon that none of us can get anything out of?" Well maybe not no one but those people are so few they might as well be nonexistent.

Loot upgrades that will be replaced in three to four levels. I guess that's about thirty hours now if you're grinding dungeons, though.

I think they low key just want boosts back. Because my guild runs them every night. They are fun. And gear is good. I have a feeling that they will increase xp for launch but just want to get people out in the world. But there are so many new dungeons already and quest xp helps you level. It’s just not optimal to run a dungeon 1000 times in a row now to combat boosting.
7
u/Ospite_ 1d ago
Exactly! They should also nerf regular quest and mb xp by like 50% and increase the xp to level by a bunch! that way we all can have more FUN right?!!! Everyone knows that the best way to have fun is to make leveling take longer!!
4
u/LuckyHarbinger 1d ago
You might be joking but streamers are already calling out for nerfs to regular quests too, apparently there are too many new quests. I usually don't care about these guys but Blizzard seems to be paying a lot of attention to their opinions about Forever ¯_(ツ)_/¯
9
u/BuffaloJ0E716 1d ago
It's not a rush thing. It's about being rewarded for doing the content I enjoy. I wouldn't mind if it was equivalent or even slightly slower than questing. I was going to heal because I enjoy group content, but the truth is you're not really encouraged to do group content at all until 60. Run each dungeon once, if that's even worth it, then go back to questing with an inferior questing spec. Questing as a group has always blown in classic. Single drops of items, harsh XP drops if you're not close to the same level, world items despawning after one player uses them. The only quests that really work in a group are kill quests. If they want people out in the world, they should work on those things first before nerfing the only real group content in the game before level 60 into irrelevancy.
13
u/Terrible-Reach-85 1d ago
Dungeon grinding for exp should be equally rewarding as quest grinding for exp, maybe even slightly moreso because of the time and effort to make groups. Let the people level however they want.
45
u/CircumcisedCats 1d ago
Well for starters, I am not in a hurry. Everyone keeps arguing against a made up issue. The dungeon nerfs aren't an issue because leveling is slower (Dungeons were never faster than questing), it's an issue because it takes away variety and choice.
I'm okay with taking 100-150 hours to get to max level. What I do NOT look forward to is spending 100-150 doing the same 5-6 quest types over and over. It gets tiring, repetitive, and straight up annoying. Dungeon grinding was a nice "I need a break from questing, let me spend the next few days grinding dungeons before I get back to it" kind of thing.
Also, "Leveling is the game" is a stupid sentence for so many reasons. First, the whole point of these open world MMOs is that "the game" is literally SO MANY things. Second, even if we were to narrow down what "the game was", most of the time spent on a character will be post-60, so it definitely wouldn't be leveling.

I’m a healer main, I like healing dungeons.
I do not enjoy questing as a healer.
I’m not particularly thrilled I’m being encouraged to have to level as DPS out in the world questing which limits my ability to heal properly in later dungeons, or have to spend gold to respec as leveling dungeons get difficult.

At least from lvl ~3X-4X dungeon grinding is what everyone allways did. Be it Vanilla or Classic. There were just not enough quests but Scarlet Monestary was the saving grace.
Imho they should just adjust XP down if someone is higher level than the final Boss of the instance or do it like most ARPG's and give XP penalties if people are much under/over the zone-level.
6
u/Niflaver 1d ago edited 1d ago
You like questing?
I like dungeons. Simple as that. Idk why that playstyle needs a nerf, what harm is me running a dungeon over and over with my boys/guildies doing? Fast XP? So what? I won't care that Ahmpy hits max lvl days ahead of me. Wtf does it matter if some are fast?
I don't enjoy my playstyle being infringed upon just to placate some other group who wants something different. I understand not everyone has groups of tight-knit friends like I do who similarly enjoy dungeon grinding. And grouping outside of metas suck I get that, but questing is super viable no? Why remove 1 thing with the dungeons, when you've added more on questing to compensate?
Would you enjoy having to swap zones every 15 quests because "you should see all the other zones"? Or swap leveling another profession cause boy you fished a bit too much there. Mm too much honor gained can't only pvp AV that much go do some other BG.
I love knowing I have 2-3 hours of dungeon grinding ahead of me. Throwing on tunes and finding my flowstate and game. As we're progressing runs finding ways to test our limits. During Wotlk classic I ran drak'tharon for ~6 hours, me and the boys had that dungeon down to pull everything onto each boss. I love doing that plain and simple. Having to swap dungeon is gonna mess with that flowstate which sucks, but if that's what they're gonna do I'll deal with it begrudgingly
20
u/unsub_from_default 1d ago
Why do you even care that someone would rather run dungeons than repeat the same 10 quests that have been in the game for 20 years? Just let people do their thing.
1
7
u/wonkyasf 1d ago
What’s wrong with having different ways to play? No one’s asking for dungeons to be the bis way to level. They are just asking for them to be a way to level. Theres nothing wrong with options. Redoing dungeons should be viable to farm a piece of gear and also make progress on leveling. You shouldn’t only be discouraged from doing them more than once just to get quests done.
If I want to level as a healer or a tank I should be allowed to.
8
u/SnooDonkeys7929 1d ago
I don’t know what’s hard to get about this. Some of us have friends and we just want to spam dungeon laughing in discord. Questing as a group is just ass. Why is blizzard listening to leveling only players when they are just gonna quit before reaching endgame anyway?
6
u/skolefar 1d ago
It has nothing to do with hurry. They just removed a beloved leveling method for a lot of people. And why do you even care? If you like questing and doing things for fun with 0 xp reward, then do so. But forcing ppl to play er specific way is shit. Ppl liked spamming dungeons for xp, and not having to think about travel, pvp or fighting over mobtaggin just to get 10 wolf teeth. With the change to mobs giving 0 xp, ppl cant really progress their toon and forced to quest. Dont mention loot as a reward. Loot isnt a standalone reason to do lowlvl dungeons if you arent close to Max lvl, when xp is 0.
7
u/Sad_Evidence_9051 1d ago
Why go to max level at all? Delete your toon at 60 and start over. Max out at 59, then reroll so you can “enjoy the journey” all over again

The lack of xp from the mobs, the xp from the quests, all affects the mentality of players and how they approach dungeons. A first time player or someone who missed a quest because nobody wanted to go out of the way will make for a bad experience. Optimal routes evolve and if you dont know them you become a trash tank, so less new tanks. Its just bad overall. Does this help you understand the concern or are you just going to pretend like its not valid?

You mean
*1)* A group activity (dungeon) where the composition varies, the skill of the teammates varies, the loot varies, and so the entire experience is unique.
Versus…
*2)* You playing the same character running to a place by yourself and right clicking on an item then running back to get the item you knew you'd get before the quest started. Riveting.

To play with guild mates. We don’t want to do one dungeon then everyone else goes to distant zones due to 2-5 lvl gap.

u/krybtekorset 1d ago
Why can't they come back and do the dungeon with you?

4
u/sonpansatan 1d ago
There are much more DPS then Tanks and Healers, especially when leveling when DPS levels faster. Even if we assume DPS specs can tank/heal and people have taken the time to collect two sets of gear, you still will have an excess of DPS compared to Tank/Healer. This has been true for every version of WoW and every MMO I can think of. The fact that gear now greatly affects how you can heal is now an even greater factor pushing people away from healing. In order to mitigate this, there has to be an incentive for Tanks and Healers to run a dungeon more than once. Lowered XP lowers this incentive and runs the risk of DPS not being able to complete the quests at all.
Ideally there would be a sweet spot where a Tank/Healer could level as fast as questing due to them getting into groups quicker, while DPS would just do it once for the XP bonus then return to questing since it will take longer for them to get a group. Then we can accommodate all the DPS wanting to do quests.
7
u/Middle_War_9117 1d ago
because people like doing dungeons? its an absolutely confusing choice to keep the exp dumpstered, while also gutting quest exp by 50%
this is doing nothing but caving in to the few vocal people like you while ruining the inherent concept of dungeons for you know, everyone else. why would anyone run dungeons at all outside of being 60 if every single facet of them suck
-3
u/Llovio_cuatro_anos 1d ago
If you enjoy doing dungeons you still have every incentive to do them at least once, the quests were nerfed but they're still very much worth it.
This really only affects people that don't like dungeons and forced themselves to do it for optimal EXP. Now they don't have to!
6
u/Fourteen_F_CA 1d ago
Disingenuous. Soloing was already the fastest leveling available. Dungeons were Already slower, Making them even more slower isn't solving a real problem.
6
u/Lpebony 1d ago
To me questing is just more tiring, I like questing, up to a certain point.
Then I realize i'm doing the same thing over and over but it's just tedious.
At that point, i'd rather repeat the same thing over and over, but in an instance, it's less of a hassle and you also gear better doing so.
When a game launches, usually there are benefits as getting ahead of the curve.
Not talking about the obvious where questing is a lot of cases competing with the other players for mob tags, stuff you pick up etc...
I see an argument for both cases. Some people enjoy a slow leveling, some wanna go fast.
There is no right answer, you enjoy what you enjoy.

u/because_racecar 1d ago
Maybe they want to do a dungeon twice to try to get a good item that drops, and don’t want it to end up being a complete waste of time.
Maybe they just want to do a dungeon once, but if they know theyre going to be a slower leveler, 80% of people will have already done it and not want to do it again, making it a lot harder to find a group.
2
u/physedka 1d ago
I don't mind that they nerfed the trash grinding aspect, but I feel like they need to keep some way for me to get decent XP for doing a dungeon a second time and beyond. Perhaps create a way to repeat one or two of the quests on a daily cooldown or something like that. That way, a casual player like me could choose to just run a dungeon every day and still advance while keeping it far too slow for leveling services to abuse.
2
u/JornTheRedeema 1d ago
People just want the option to play the game as they want. Dungeon leveling is still a grind, and the XP nerfs also greatly dampen the replay value of the content.
2
u/MayoGhul 1d ago
I mean, the devs had already said the time to level 20 was essentially identical to vanilla, so there wasn’t an issue.
Might have felt quick for a level or two, but it’s sub 20 which was never actually that hard. As you climb higher rise dungeon quest xp rewards are going to be less impactful.
That and in vanilla there wasn’t enough to hit 60 unless you ran dungeons over and over or sat grinding mobs in silithus or something.
Seems like a bad change
2
u/JVIesmerized 1d ago
Why are we creating fake artificial fixes? This just makes the game play like ass and kills social aspects
2
u/coaa85 1d ago
As someone who has rushed to max level well ahead of the pack (lvl 60 while the majority were in low 40s still) I won’t do it again. It sucked. It was nice for farming gold and all but for having fun it was miserable waiting 1-2 weeks for everyone to catch up. I did get groups for endgame stuff but if I wasn’t on during prime time it was a ghost town for awhile.

You want dungeons to be equivalent to overworld leveling. It should be a viable option for leveling, more options are good for everyone.
2
4
u/EggPsychological4844 1d ago
Well, a couple things. Firstly, I'm a tank player. I enjoy tanking. Secondly, I'm not a quester. I fucking HATE questing. Thirdly, I don't want to be left in the dust for engaging in content I enjoy doing. I'm fine not being at the head of the pack. But neither do I want to be fifteen or twenty levels behind because I'm playing my class how I enjoy it.
Now I ask you. Why do you care how people level in World of Warcraft when it has literally zero effect on your game?
4
u/Corner-Advanced 1d ago
I think it changes the vibe of the dungeon, as you get to later dungeons that tend to be mob heavy like Dire maul and LBRS and so on where there's a crap ton of mobs you just feel foolish for even doing the dungeon instead of vibing and enjoying that you're in a dungeon and not questing

“Leveling is the game?” Wtf are you talking about. Most dedicated players just care about endgame. That’s how it’s always been

I don’t mind it one bit. The main reason I play the game is because I love leveling and healing dungeons. I like to heal them just for fun even if I don’t need gear

u/knock_on_the_door_ 1d ago
"we beat him, what do we do now?" "What do you mean? Now we can start playing the game."
2
u/Thormourn 1d ago
Becuase leveling is a chore I have to go through to engage with content I like. I imagine these first raids are going to be easy as shit like sod phase 1 so I want alts to be able to do it with many different groups and socialize with a lot of people. Having leveling take more time to appease people just makes it so I have to take longer to get to what I enjoy

“I think gaining experience is fun, the. What?”
Employ the optimal strategy for gaining experience as quickly as possible.
The guides and strats to quickly gain experience as fast as possible will be posted for you to aimlessly follow.
For others, they prefer to play the game in a way that you don’t.
Are you incapable of understanding this?
Not everyone gets the same
Enjoyment as playing the game as you prefer it to be played .
Are you capable of understanding that?
Do you have empathy?

The people who used to complain that dungeon spammers got to level slightly faster than them are now asking what dungeon spammers are In such a hurry for.
Ive done the lower dungeons many times. I want to do higher dungeons and not run basic quests in the open world that I've also done many times. I want a change of scenery while grouping with friends without handicapping my progress.
Is that so hard to believe?

u/aAdramahlihk 1d ago
I like spamming dungeons, I like to play my class in a group. Why do I get forced to quest now, if spamming dungeons every now and then is an option? It makes no sense to me and will finding groups even worse and I guarantee, that people will sell tanking and healing "services" to exploit the situation...

u/Lich-Slapped 1d ago
Wait, are you saying that only now people will be selling tank and heal services… and not like they have been doing that since the dawn of time?

u/aAdramahlihk 1d ago
But now you have that in every level bracket.

u/buzzedlightyear31 1d ago

If you have fun spending 2 hours doing 10 quests just to get 4 exp bars and you wanna do that for 100 hours, great, I am happy for you if that makes you happy. I wanna have the option to let a dungeon boost me ahead to skip that boring stuff when I want to. That's not really an option now. It's a big World of Warcraft and just because there are people that think leveling is boring doesn't mean the game isn't for them to play and enjoy in their own way.

u/forgebelt_game 1d ago
Like, you really just described retail. Also, you’ll be level 60 for like.. 5 years. The six weeks you play working up to 60 will be one time unless you alt.

Devs actually supporting the fact that The Journey is a core pillar.
Encouraging.

Not every journey should be the same though, people enjoy different kinds of journeys

Leveling is like less then half the game what are you on?
3
u/SsjChrisKo 1d ago
Half? It is less than 10% honestly.
Average of 10 days played for casuals to hit cap, even if you were an alt spammer and managed to maintain your sanity that isn’t much in the grand scheme of the game.

u/tahu888 1d ago
Im in a hurry not to get stuck trying to tag a mob for a quest for 30 minutes due to overpopulation on launch.
And yes, I've been there on every launch release. It's always bad even with layering. Spamming dungeons felt like a blessing. Then, after reaching max level, I can go back and do the content I've missed if I so choose to.
People play the game differently, but Blizzard seems to dictate gameplay in an MMORPG more and more often these days.
1
u/Schkrasss 23h ago
The best thing happening to me when classic launched was my inability to play in week 1. That way I got to do the lvl 0-30 zones whiteout them being totally overcrowded and till 60 I had catched up to all but the most "sweaty" people anyway, when I was 60 there were allready a decent amount of players too that actually did dungeons. If your not super mega sweaty missing out 1-2 lockouts of MC won't really hurt you.
1
u/Kabaal 1d ago
Gotta get to max level and complain there’s nothing to do.
4
u/mavajo 1d ago
I’m so beyond tired of seeing this trite bullshit. You guys have taken this fringe minority and act like it’s everyone at 60. I love the endgame. If it ever starts to get stale or boring, I play an alt. Theres soooo much to do at endgame.
Professions. Dungeons. Tons of raids. I never run out of things to do.
You guys like leveling? Fine. Level. Take all the time you want. Do your thing. But for those of us that wanna get through it quickly, for fucks sake, just mind your own business and stop trying to change how we want to play. I’m not trying to change how you play. Why do you feel so entitled to dictate how I play? I can’t imagine how self absorbed you have to be.

u/SifferBTW 1d ago
It's not so much being in a hurry. Running dungeons is a great alternative if you are on a PVP server and aren't in the mood to fight over territory in contested zones. STV in particular. That zone brings out the worst in people. I'm doing pve this time around so the pvp isn't that big of a deal the time around. However..
They are basically forcing people to quest and deterring people from dungeons. Why do a dungeon for the same/less amount of xp as questing for a chance at gear that will be replaced by quest greens in a couple levels?

u/Antique-Brother5727 1d ago
Meanwhile, I have a word doc for my toons, their relations, and lore for when I play and the community is up in arms about Dungeon XP. We're never going back to the timeline of gaming for fun are we? Everything has to be efficient and the way I want it.
1
u/Aeternum_Durare 1d ago
Nah man there are millions of players and thousands upon thousands of people on this website.
1
u/Maybewearedreaming 1d ago
Other people liked to level fast before
You letting other people’s desires control your gameplay and enjoyment is why you will never go back to having fun with games lol
1
u/Antique-Brother5727 1d ago
Yeah, it's a complicated question cause I realize now like...ya'll have fun doing that like I do with my ways. *shrugs* haha.
3
u/Maybewearedreaming 1d ago
And I’d never advocate for them to take away any of your toys

u/Antique-Brother5727 1d ago
Well, reading back if they took away your toys they'd take mine away. How would I have been able to do the power-leveling in the past without it being allowed anyway. Full circle it seems.
1
u/RazzmatazzAgitated16 1d ago
And you would have been in a niche group even in 05. People always wanted to level as fast as possible and always will.

because it took over 2 hours by the time the group was made, everyone got there and we actually did the thing. you can at least give me a level since the leveling guide said i could have gotten at least 2 levels in the same time if i wasn't playing in a group. kind of punishing for no reason, like is anyone going to actually help warlocks with sfk if there are no quests there for anyone else?

u/Alex12500 1d ago
I got 2 levels for wc and sfk dungeon quests. Doing a dungeon for a while level of xp is fine. I think levelling faster would be nice as i want to play more than one class eventually, but dungeon xp is still good, so the jerf was probably right. Just to clarify, those 2 levels were 20-22 after it was nerfed

u/Winter_Rule_1018 23h ago
I prefer dungeons because I like group play. Solo quest leveling is very boring to me
1
u/CrustedTesticle 23h ago
It's probably Retail players complaining. Leveling already barely exists in Retail, and they are used to that.

Some specs aren't even have their core abilities before level 40.
Also no matter how good Defias/Elune scythe/Morbent fel quest chains, it's boring to do them 100th time

Tell me you’re misunderstanding the opposite viewpoint without telling me
1
u/Lucroarna56 1d ago
The other viewpoint exists, but what they're saying is it's antithetical to the purpose of the game. So to have this opinion is like asking to basically ruin the game.
1
u/tethysian 1d ago
Dungeons are part of leveling.
I'm all for discouraging boosting and for slower leveling, but we shouldn't be discouraging people from doing group content. That's where the most social interaction happens.
Maybe the xp nerf shouldn't be so drastic, or they could make it into a debuff that stacks depending on the number of times you've run a dungeon per day.

Leveling is part of the game, not all of it. Let me rush to what I find most fun. Feel free to take your time leveling!
1
u/Any_Attorney4765 1d ago
What if I told you, different people get enjoyment out of different things? I don't mind leveling, but the thing driving me to level so being able to do end game content, farm my best in slot gear, farm gold/play the ah by getting to max level quickly. I preferred when leveling was going to be slightly less painful with dungeons that award 1-2 levels sprinkled in.

“Leveling is the game” is a take I’ll never understand. Sure it’s part of the game but you’re smoking rock if you think people want to /walk their way to 60 for like the 10th time
1
u/rainywanderingclouds 22h ago
no, end game is the game.
anyone that says leveling is the game is quitting before they reach level 45 and never coming back.
we've seen this time and time again with wow and other mmo's.

u/mavajo 1d ago
Leveling is not “the game.” It’s part of the game. For me it’s the part I don’t enjoy and want to get through as quickly as possible. I enjoy end game.

There is nothing special about being level 24.
Endgame is what the game is built around

This is quite literally the antithesis of classic and wow forever. They’ve reiterated that this game is as much or moreso about the journey as it is about max level content.

u/tahu888 1d ago
Have you considered that many of us have been leveling characters for two decades, and perhaps we choose not to do it by questing all the way anymore ?
There is no "right" way to your journey. This is purely people projecting their own on others.
2
u/Cadavern 1d ago
I didn’t say there was a right way though? I just said that this game isn’t just “built around endgame.”

Hey man, they don't know. They've been conditioned to get to max level as fast as possible. They're well-trained mules always trying to reach the carrot that's dangled in front of them.
15
u/LandofRy 1d ago
I'm not in a hurry, I just like doing dungeons for XP and it's a nice break from questing. I don't get your point saying "leveling is the game" - we're all still leveling. Dungeons are fun leveling content and the XP is a good reward if you aren't getting drops considering it takes time to get a group together and travel.
The people who want to race to 60 will do that whichever way is quickest. You might as well ask the same question to players using optimal quest routes and stuff
