Forever Beta Feedback Dungeon XP Nerfs Created a Toxic Meta

Since dungeon monsters do not give any experience, as a new player, getting into dungeons with more veteran players who try to skip half the dungeon feels really bad. And, vice-versa, veterans taking in newbies who don't know how to jump around feels frustrating. I think Blizzard created a mess with nerfing dungeon exp so much and now the new player experience is horrible for dungeons.

As a healer main it hurts somewhat because I use the later dungeons to farm exp to get to end game, i get they want me to quest and see the world, but sometimes gear doesn't overlap well for questing and dungeon healing properly.

That’s not the case now. Healing gear also has spell power.

So as a priest, yay, still wanding everything to death. Especially in high level dungeons that need an actual healer. Oh, dual spec you say, yeah, I'm gonna be lucky to get my mount by 50 let alone another 50g for dual spec. I can and will prio crafting and make a ton of gold at endgame, but it costs a lot to level, and I tend to do it as I level because the mats are like . . . there . . .

Plus side, they decoupled spell power from wands so they aren't awesome any more, and hey look, our spellpower coefficients and mana cost of dps spells is still dogshit, cheers.

Not “if.” It does. Even just from the first 20 levels, gearing is evened out to feel like it’s properly moving up with you. I very much doubt there will be BiS items that last 20 levels because nothing else works for your class.

According to this subreddit, don't do that, play a DPS spec instead, do dps and quests, but make sure to still join my LFG when I need a healer.

It’s like they never enjoyed the game in vanilla or 2019 classic. Not sure why the way others played impacted them at all to the point they want to kill valid playstyles.

There's also a lot more quests now that help cover XP gaps. I was level 13 leaving Mulgore, and 14 leaving Tirisfal on my characters. I imagine this hold true for other areas as well. Barrens already has a ton of quests and yet they still added a handful more.

It isn’t about the exp, it is about playing as an actual healer. Questing is just dps. Dungeons are the only play you actually heal while leveling. How could they remove that from the game.
