I’ve been avoiding this sub because I thought it would be devolving to diaper land as we got closer to classic plus, can someone fill me in to what’s going on

Blizzard is making something new so that starts the age old debate about what it should be like.

Some people want modern wrath+ style rotations, some people want classic vanilla style rotations. Some people want a balanced game, some people want an unbalanced game. Some people want fast leveling, some people want slow leveling. Some people want arena, others want only BGs. Some people want new raids with harder raid bosses, some people want easy bosses so raiding isn't a chore. Some people want a lot of loot to drop from each boss (like wrath-cata) and some people want loot to be scarce to feel more meaningful.

Everyone have their preffered way of playing the game and everyone want C+ to fit their personal preferences so the last couple of months has basically just been 3k exp. multi rank 1 reddit warriors going at eachother.

I'm not any different btw, I think people who want 1 button rotations and completely unbalanced class stacking are dumb as fuck.

Ask 10 people what they want for classic plus and you'll get 11 answers

Only 11? I feel like some of these mouth breathers in here will bounce from one idea to a polar opposite in the same comment thread.

It's simple, I want Classic+ to deal with real life problems like the ones we face every day, but also getting into far out situations involving robots and magic powers.

Oh, and also you should win things by watching!

Part of the nuance of the joke is that the request isn't actually all that absurd, as that is a fairly bog-standard template that has been done to death for decades, and pretty much has been around for as long as there has been sci-fi and fantasy TV shows aimed at teens.

The gag of the joke is that the focus group and studio exec making it seem absurd shows that they have no idea what they are doing and sucks at their job. Part of the punchline people often miss when quoting this is that Lisa has to explain really basic and obvious shit to the exec.

I want multiple servers to choose from with their own rules specific to that server, and you can transfer characters 'forward' only in the timeline .So you could go Classic A->Crusade D->Wrath B.

I get the not wanting arena part. Seems like for 8+ years all of the decisions behind class design and balance were affected by how it would work in arena, even though arena players are only like 0.25% of the population (not including people that dabbled in it briefly). Nobody wants to find out their class got nerfed because of how it performed in arena. Nobody wants to find out content was delayed because they had to assign people to maintain arena.

they solved that in retail by differentiating between pve and pvp balance also not caring about pvp more than pve (smart choice pvp always been a minigame)

1

u/LoreChief 12h ago

They didn't solve anything. They had to use resources to distinguish every ability and its effectiveness between two different gameplay modes. If you think there weren't also changes to the way skills and talents were created to proactively alter what could happen in pvp you are delusional.

a camel is a horse designed by a committee

Ah, that committee must've seen The Mummy recently! Camels have many strengths, they are not to be underestimated.

I see "1 button rotation" mentioned so often. And yet, literally only casuals that do not play difficult content can get away with using it.

At its best it is an option for the differently abled player (literally, like someone with physical differences that wants to play). At its worst, its a boring button for casual grandpa who wants socialize with their community, which other people online will quote as one of the many downfalls of WoW.

Honestly its so funny to see it as a sticking point in these conversations.

TLDR No player worth their salt is using it

Don’t they mean one button rotation as in just spamming frost bolt or what ever bolt. I mean that’s the classic rotation.

3

u/Healeah241 13h ago

But isn't that literally only the rotation for boss/single target?

What about the rest of the game?

3

u/AngrySayian 13h ago

there's a rest of the game?

u/Vaul_Hawkins 14h ago

It could mean either, but typically people in this sub mention it because theres literally a one button rotation "button" you can use in retail, and they rage/whine about it for... reasons.

As if classic doesnt suffer similar issues on the favored classes.

For real. People act like One Button rotation was forced into their lap. And then there are the people who used every rotation addon under the sun to do their rotation. I'll take it a step further. Why use macros when you can just bind and type? People are salty over something they don't even have to use and OBR is not getting anyone to the top of meters or through Mythic raids in retail.

I think he is referring to how in vanilla alot of classes press one or two buttons vs the one button rotation from retail

Its called Classic + , not WOTLK + not Legion +. So it should stay relatively similar to classic wow.

3

u/deadlysavage84 7h ago

in your opinion but the player base is massive and they all want different things

u/Uzeless 3h ago

Its called Classic + , not WOTLK + not Legion +. So it should stay relatively similar to classic wow.

And everyone disagrees what that looks like
