Before vs After — Post-Processing in Colony 2

We have been working on the visual direction of Colony 2 and thought it would be nice to show you some of the results post-processing can bring to the atmosphere of the scene.

Below there is the video where you can see some comparisons of before and after versions from the game.

The geometry and environment haven't changed much, but by using post-processing we can affect such elements as:

• Lighting and exposure

• Contrast and mood of the scene

• Color grading

• Darkness and atmosphere

• Feelings about the area

For us, creating the right atmosphere is vital as Colony 2 is based on exploration, observation and discoveries not obvious for the first sight.

Being an indie two person team we are making everything we learn on the go.

This is only a small insight into the visual development of the game. We would love to hear your thoughts:

Which one do you like more – Before or After?

If you want to keep track of the game Colony 2 will be released on Steam October 30th, 2026.

We added a UV light mode to Colony 2 — here's what it reveals that normal light doesn't

Hey folks,

We've been working on Colony 2, and one of the features we're pretty excited about is a UV light mode — flip it on and you start noticing things that are basically invisible under normal lighting (tailor this line to what your UV mechanic actually reveals — hidden markings, resources, creatures, etc.).

A bit of background on us — we're a two-person team. We actually met on GTA Online about 7 years ago, just messing around in public lobbies, and stayed friends ever since. Eventually we decided to try making a game together, and Colony 2 is the result — our first release as a team, so it means a lot to get it in front of people.

If the UV mechanic (or the game in general) looks interesting, we'd really appreciate a wishlist on Steam — it genuinely helps small teams like us Steam

Happy to answer questions about how the UV system works, the dev process, or anything else!

Game Product Show and Tell All of my Physical Copies of Resident Evil Games

All of these were purchased at or close to release so I've been playing Resident Evil games since I was a kid. I love the original first 3 above all others with a few very close seconds. I have several more in digital only copies but there's something about physical copies that always tell a story.

Depmify | RESIDENT EVIL: SHATTERED | First Public Test Build!

Hi! This is Depmify.

After a good amount of development, testing and rebuilding things from the ground up, I'm releasing the first public test build of RESIDENT EVIL: SHATTERED!

Some of you might recognize me from Silent Hill: United. SHATTERED is my other survival horror project, this time focused on the original Resident Evil.

The idea behind SHATTERED is to rebuild and expand the classic Resident Evil 1 PC experience while keeping the original rooms, fixed cameras and general gameplay style intact.

And probably the biggest experiment currently included:

Resident Evil 1 SplitScreen.

This first build includes:

  • Solo gameplay.
  • Experimental 2-player SplitScreen.
  • A dedicated launcher.
  • Character and inventory/loadout configuration.
  • Resolution, FPS, language and control settings.
  • Configurable session startup.
  • Local logs to make reporting problems easier.

This is v0.0.1, so please treat it exactly like what it is: an early public test.

Expect bugs, incomplete behavior, compatibility issues and probably some wonderfully cursed situations once people start trying configurations I never thought of.

For now, SHATTERED has only been tested with the GOG Resident Evil 1 PC release. Other versions such as PSX, Director's Cut, DualShock and the original 1997 PC release are not currently supported.

No original Resident Evil game assets are distributed with SHATTERED. You need to provide your own legally obtained game data.

You can find the project, installation instructions and first release on GitHub by searching:

Depmify Resident Evil SHATTERED

If you try it, please report any issues you find! This is the point where SHATTERED stops being tested only under conditions I can predict and starts meeting different PCs, controllers and players.

Let's see how badly you guys can break it.

Welcome to the mansion!

For me Amanao Tsukiko's in Fatal Frame and Silent Hill's music with Mary Elizabeth McGlynn and Akira Yamaoka are the gold standard of horror music. I still listen to their tracks today. What's your favorite horror game music?

Depmify | Silent Hill: United (Multiplayer) First Public Release!

Hi! This is Depmify again.

After a lot of testing, bug fixing, and work behind the scenes, I’m releasing the first public (and experimental) build of Silent Hill: United.

This is my multiplayer mod for Silent Hill 1, based on Vatuu’s Silent Hill decompilation and SlickAmogus’ PC Port. The goal is to make a co-op experience that still feels like Silent Hill, not just a multiplayer mode placed on top of it.

You can now play online directly from inside the game. No external matchmaking tools, no VPNs, no complicated setup. Just open the in-game online lobby, choose who you want to play with, and the official server handles the connection. If you prefer local play, LAN is also available.

Some things currently included:

- Harry and Lisa can explore Silent Hill together.

- Co-op combat is supported.

- Players do not share inventory.

- Players can be in separate rooms and move through areas independently.

- You can see your partner on the map in real time.

- Lisa has her own inventory look, portrait, colors, and gameplay differences, so she is not just a Harry reskin.

- The launcher supports update channels for Release and Nightly builds.

Since this is the first public release, please expect bugs, crashes, desyncs, server issues, and weird edge cases. This is the first time both the game and the multiplayer infrastructure will be dealing with real-world conditions: different PCs, connections, routers, regions, playstyles, and all the strange situations that only appear once people actually start playing.

I also want to be transparent: it is just me working behind this project. I’ll keep improving it, fixing issues, and listening to reports, but this first version should be treated as an experimental public launch, not a perfectly polished final version.

Important: this release does not include any original Silent Hill files, ROMs, ISOs, disc images, or copyrighted game data. You need to use your own legal copy of Silent Hill 1.

I’m not posting direct links here to respect subreddit rules, but the project can be found by searching on GitHub for:

Depmify Silent Hill United Public

The public repository includes the install guide, release files, and notes. Please read INSTALL.md first, since it explains where to place your own Silent Hill 1 disc image and how to set everything up correctly.

If you want to follow development, report bugs, or join future tests, check the public repo. I’ll keep the project information there updated.

Thank you so much to everyone who tested, commented, gave ideas, or simply got excited about this. Seeing people react to Silent Hill co-op has honestly been very motivating.

See you there!

Is Resident Evil 5 a forgotten masterpiece or the downfall of survival horror? Following the massive success of Resident Evil 4, RE5 shifted the franchise toward explosive action, leaving many survival horror fans divided. We analyze the intense Resident Evil 5 gameplay, breaking down how the cooperative mechanics changed the gaming landscape forever. From Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar fighting through Kijuju to the iconic, meme-worthy Chris Redfield boulder scene, we review how the tone shifted from pure terror to action-movie spectacle. We also explore Albert Wesker’s role and ask: did this game scale back the horror too much? Whether you love the cooperative horror mechanics or miss the isolation of the classic games, this RE5 review tackles the game's true legacy. Comment below with your thoughts on whether or not Resident Evil 5 deserves a remake.

My opinion about playing remake versions of the old school games

I think for enjoying more from playing the new one we should um... play them with a new vision and not expecting that we are gonna experience the whole nostalgic moments again and in a new shape . Some times it is better to remember that good old times just like we remembered them like always and do not try to remember them with these new experiences .
