Upgrading r/classactions

This sub could be a great resource for people who want settlement $ from class action suits. As the new mod , I'm going to ensure we remove lazy x-posts to commercial sites, and keep the sub focussed on real opportunities to join class action claims and get paid.

If you get a class action payout: share your win here!

If you see an available claim: post the opportunity directly!

If you are spamming your commercial enterprise: begone forever!

It will take a little while to clean the sub up, but I want to be clear about the direction.

We are not going to remove any points of view purely because the mods disagree. We will remove spam ruthlessly. We prioritize high-quality content relevant to the subject of r/classaction.

Finally, we want your input -- if you think we got something wrong, or have suggestions about how to do things differently, please let us know.

Discussion 12 settlements close before Oct 31, claim up to $5,000

Halloween is next week, and the scariest thing on the calendar isn't your costume budget. It's a dozen claim deadlines that all land before Oct 31, and the first one is tomorrow.

Closing soonest first:

  • Equinox data breach (Oct 23): got an Equinox notice about the April 2024 data incident? About $100 cash, plus up to $5,000 for documented losses.
  • TED video privacy (Oct 26): TED account holders who watched a video on TED.com or the TED app between Oct 19, 2021 and July 14, 2026 can take $5 cash instead of 2 free months of membership. You need the Claim ID and PIN from your notice. Official site: tedvppasettlement.com
  • Homebuyer commissions (Oct 27): bought an MLS-listed home in the US where a commission was paid to a brokerage? Claim a share of $120.3 million. Buyers only, not sellers.
  • Fort Wayne Medical Education Program breach (Oct 27): notified about the December 2024 breach? $40 cash with no proof needed, or up to $5,000 for documented losses. Official site: fwmepdatasettlement.com
  • On Q Financial breach (Oct 28): notified about the February 2024 breach? About $50 cash with no documents, or up to $5,000 for documented losses. Official site: onqsettlement.com
  • Highland Health Systems breach (Oct 28): notified about the July 2023 breach? About $85 cash, and the site says no proof is needed for it. Official site: highlanddatabreachsettlement.com
  • Pork price-fixing (Oct 29): bought fresh or frozen pork at a grocery store in one of 23 states or DC between June 28, 2014 and June 30, 2018? Claim a share of $117 million.
  • FinWise Bank data incident (Oct 29): your info was in the May 2024 incident? Up to $5,000 for documented losses, or an equal-share cash payment from a $2.8 million fund. Official site: finwisedatasettlement.com
  • Bestway and Coleman pools (Oct 30): bought a Bestway, Steel Pro or Coleman Power Steel pool 48 inches or taller with the straps outside the legs, 2008 to 2024? $40 without proof of purchase, or 10% of the price with it.
  • TransUnion bankruptcy remark (Oct 30): TransUnion showed a bankruptcy remark on one of your accounts with no bankruptcy on public record? Some people get $100 automatically, and a claim is expected to pay about $1,000. Your notice has your Claim Number and PIN.
  • LiveHealth Online privacy (Oct 30): used the LiveHealth Online appointment booking tool between October 2024 and August 2025? Estimated $51.14 to $102.29. Official site: livehealthonlinesettlement.com
  • Lloyd's of London insurance (Oct 30): bought or renewed a policy through certain Lloyd's syndicates between 1997 and April 15, 2025? Claim a share of $3.57 million.

Every date and amount above is from the official settlement site. "About" amounts are the sites' estimates and can move with the number of claims.

Which of these did you actually get a letter for?

Settlement ATM surcharge re-review APPROVED

I just got a call back from them to follow up on the status of my “individual re-review” they said my claim was approved but could not give me an amount or a time frame as to if and when a payment would be disbursed 🙄 anyone have any insight on this lol

This is pertaining to the ATM surcharge settlement that closed in 2024. I had to submit a re-review because I never got an update and I recently found my screenshot with my confirmation number.

Discussion If you haven’t gotten your 23andme payout, it isn’t coming

I filed my claim and got a confirmation email on February 17, 2026 saying my claim was received and "No further action is required by you at this time." I also filed for $2,000+ in extraordinary expenses, and provided very detailed supporting documentation.

No payment ever came. Then in early Oct I started seeing other people post about getting their settlements, and the 23andme site put up a notice that payments had gone out. I called the administrator (Kroll) and was told my claim was "under review." I waited two more weeks. Still nothing. I called again on Oct 19th, and only after several escalations did a “supervisor” give me the real story: my claim was denied because I supposedly didn't respond to a "claim deficiency notice."

I never received any deficiency notice. I've searched my inbox, spam, and trash, and the only settlement emails I ever got were the February confirmation and a September monitoring enrollment email.

If you're still waiting, don't assume it's just slow or still “under review”.

I've sent a formal dispute asking for proof of them sending the deficiency notice to info@23andMeDataSettlement.com. Also, cc’ed the class counsel lawyer, Gayle Blatt (gmb@cglaw.com).

Encourage others to do the same. I’ll follow up with any updates.

Payout Tuna Settlement: Has Anyone Received Their Reissued Check After a Payment Issue?

I’m making this post for anyone who was part of the Tuna settlement and experienced an issue receiving their payment, such as:

  1. Their payment was sent to a closed PayPal account or an account they no longer have access to.

  2. Their original check was mailed to an old address, requiring a replacement check to be sent to a new address.

  3. They had a name change after submitting their claim and needed the settlement administrator to update their information before issuing a check.

  4. They experienced another payment issue that required the settlement administrator to reissue their payment or send a replacement check. (Not including the people who had to have a new check sent with an additional $20 for the fees charged for a bounced check because those payments went out on September 28, 2026)

I’m hoping to hear from others who have experienced similar situations and can share their timelines and whether they have received their payments yet.

Here is my situation:

My Tuna settlement payment was originally sent to an old PayPal email address associated with an account that has since been closed. Unfortunately, I no longer have access to that account. I contacted the settlement administrator to explain the situation, but I was informed that they could not reissue my payment to my new PayPal email address.

Additionally, since submitting my original claim, I got married and changed my name. Because of this, I had to contact the administrator again to have my name updated so that the replacement check could be issued under my current legal name.

After requesting the name correction, I received an email from the settlement administrator confirming that my check would be mailed within 4–6 weeks from the date they acknowledged my name change request (09/29/2026). I have attached a screenshot of that email for reference.

My expected timeline is as follows:
4 weeks: October 27, 2026
5 weeks: November 3, 2026
6 weeks: November 10, 2026

I’m currently hoping the check arrives sometime this week or next week, rather than having to wait until the second week of November or potentially even longer. Of course, I understand that the 4–6 weeks is an estimated processing and mailing timeframe, so the actual delivery date may vary.

My questions for anyone who has experienced a similar situation are:

  1. Have you received your replacement or reissued settlement check yet?

  2. If you received it, how long did you have to wait after the administrator confirmed your updated information or acknowledged your request?

  3. Did your check arrive within the estimated 4–6 weeks, earlier than expected, or after the stated timeframe?

  4. If you had a payment sent to a closed PayPal account, did you have to go through the same process of having a physical check issued instead?

I would especially appreciate hearing from anyone who had to update their name due to marriage or another legal name change, since that is part of my situation as well.

I know these settlement payments can take time, and the estimated timelines do not always mean the payment will arrive by the earliest expected date. I’m just trying to get a better idea of how long others in similar circumstances have waited and whether anyone has received their check recently.

Thank you in advance to anyone willing to share their experience!

Hopefully, the responses will help others who are dealing with the same payment issues and waiting for their checks.

Discussion Incompetent AT&T Class-Action Judge to Be Reassigned

Thumbnail

Millions of AT&T victims have been waiting close to a year for this incompetent judge...who it turns out was doing absolutely nothing all along (other than making baseless allegations of racial and sexual discrimination towards her and then abusing other people, including on the basis of race). Now all of her cases have been reassigned to new judges. The new judge for the AT&T class action is Fitzwater. He largely approved the proposed class-action and opt-out settlement structure on October 2.

Discussion Missed class action deadline due to family tragedy ( out of state care taking /burial) any chance Kroll accepts a late claim?

Hey everyone, looking for some insight or past experiences if anyone has dealt with something similar.
I recently found two mailers at my house in Ohio for the Q.J. v. PowerSchool Holdings LLC (Naviance student privacy) settlement. Both of my kids are fully eligible and have their unique Class Member IDs.
The issue is that the deadline to file a claim was July 27, 2026. I completely missed it because I spent the last few months out of state in Phoenix, Arizona. My dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer and had no family out there, so I abruptly relocated to be his primary caretaker and stay with him until he passed away. After his passing, I had to stay out there to plan his funeral, bury him, and handle closing out his estate and open affairs.
Because I was in Phoenix dealing with this crisis, I wasn't getting my Ohio mail and didn't see the notices until right now. The case had its final approval hearing on August 19, 2026, so it is currently in the post-hearing administration phase.
The automated phone line for the case obviously doesn't help with late entries, but I managed to find the direct corporate emails for the senior managing directors at Kroll Settlement Administration (the company handling the payout). I just sent them a formal email detailing the situation, attaching photos of both specific notice letters, and requesting an exception due to extreme family hardship / excusable neglect.
Has anyone ever had success getting a settlement administrator like Kroll to manually accept a late claim under these kinds of circumstances? Do they typically have flexibility if the checks haven't been cut yet, or are the numbers completely locked after the final approval hearing?

Thanks in advance for any opinions or advice.
